Value of an almost complete PlayChoice 10 collection???

From what I've read, R.B.I. Baseball for the PC10 is a myth...

Where did you read that??? I saw the April Fool's Day hoax from SunSoft about Blaster Master: Destination Fred (PlayChoice 10 unreleased prototype) but I haven't seen anything about R.B.I. Baseball.

It's been months, but someone here posted an RBI BASEBALL craigslist link. A bunch of links went back and forth and it was determined that the only PC10 to ever run RBI BASEBALL was one with a NES RBI Baseball hacked in...

I've heard a story, maybe it was on coinopspace, about somebody who picked up a PC-10 that had Ninja Gaiden III stashed in the coin box. I don't recall who posted the story and don't feel like looking for it right now... but that's the only copy I've ever heard of.

RBI I've never seen/heard of a legit copy found. Although KLOVer NotreCaine does have a SMB3 that the SMB3 sticker on the pcb peeled off to reveal a RBI Baseball sticker underneath. That's the closest I've ever heard of someone finding that one. Again, I believe this was Matt who had this although my brain is fried right now so I could be totally off base on that one too. :)

Either way, I've seen bounties of $500+ each put out there for at least these 2 games.

I don't think RBI or NGIII exist honestly.

Heck, I kind of wish someone would show me a Shatterhand pic and mini marquee pic. Never seen that one either.

Is the atari/namco RBI baseball the same game? Or was there a completely different version for the PC 10? Just curious as I had a kit for RBI ages ago that came with a bunch of nintendo stuff...

It would be a PC10 PCB daughter card type that looks similar to one of these boards but obviously saying RBI Baseball on it. There's a VS RBI Baseball kit that is a large PCB motherboard and I think there's a stand alone version of RBI.

I didn't see anyone mention that some carts would allow a simple rom swap between games. Super Mario2 ... well maybe it was SM3 ..... well anyway one these two carts would support chip swaps of several games and I do believe IIRC RBI was one of them.

Yeah, there are a lot of rom sets that you can swap in and out of PC10 carts but I believe that all of the PC10 games that were released were made on their own PCBs. There is 3 or 4 chips per board that make the game function on the main board and play on the machine. The ones available now will display the name of the original game, not the new game if the machine is to remain coin operated. There are name eproms that can be made for the rom sets but you have to change the BIOS chip and remove the 8 pin security chip for the new name to display properly. Also, the machine has to be set to free play for this BIOS chip to work.

I think I had the VS kit game. I vaguely remember it just being a set of chips and artwork. The myth continues...

I Think Alice Cooper was selling the Ninja Gaiden III on Ebay a while back. A "RARE Must Have" type auction.
