Valspar satin black - want to recoat with Rust-Oleum sprayed?
I have a question. I sprayed the black areas on my Robotron project with Valspar rattle can satin black. Normally, I can pull off a good finish with rattle cans, but this just looks uneven, from the spray passes. The prep was adequate - Rustoleum automotive primer, sanded flat as glass, then several light coats of the Valspar black, trying my best to overlap to make it even.
I want to try spraying Rust-Oleum satin black, mixed with acetone to thin, from an HVLP gun.
If I sand the Valspar black with 320 grit to get it slick, scuff pad to rough it up, then wipe with naptha to degrease.......should I get any bad reaction, spraying the Rust-Oleum over the Valspar satin black? As in, I don't want to re-primer.
Thanks in advance-
Joey
