Hey all! I'm looking for some parts.
I'm looking for a top cover for the power supply. (see pic)
I'm also looking for someone who can repair? the upper marquee circuit board. Or I guess I could alternatively be on the lookout for an upper marquee whole board as well. (see pic) the player 2 and 4 lights stay on all the time for cricket. It scores just fine but the lights just never go off. Is this an issue with the marquee board?? or down on the main board??
I'd also be interested in the middle cabinet cover if there's a good one out there to be had. Mine has been spray painted cougar emblem in the middle. I did get some of it cleaned off with acetone, but I think I scrubbed too hard and took off some of the cougar as well. And just below that Its supposed to have a sticker or something that says VALLEY I think, but the spray paint artist went over that too. And for some reason at the bottom of the cabinet they spray painted over the whatever words were down there. I think it said VALLEY Cougar. I think Im gonna have to just live with that though.

I have the middle cabinet cover and the upper marquee board (working). I have power supplies also. Just no spare cover. I can take some pix later on and get back to you.

The middle cover looks AWESOME on there!! I installed the marquee, and it does the exact same thing as my board was already doing. I got it installed, and flipped the power on, and looked up and my heart just broke with disappointment when I saw the lights were on that aren't supposed to be on. I put the board in test mode and did several of the marquee tests and I have come to the conclusion that my original marquee board and the one I got from you are both working properly.

I have saveral pieces NoS art for the top and bottoms of about every valley dartboard other than the IQ and cougar 8, probably it had some bad scuff marks from people kicking it usually with boots and there was no magic erasing getting them out for whatever reason bet it still would of looked way better than the spray art he did. That looks like an SM model it would of said valley with a cougar logo in blue that matches the top.

What do you mean the header lights up player 1 and 2 lights that wont go off or something, in the dart would we would refer to that as the upper display or header lol, marquees are arcades

I think i understand what your saying so when its idle in attract mode some leds dont go off ? They should dance in a pattern. A very common thing if the board seems to function normally but the upper display is doing weird things is the upper display isnt getting proper power, or most commonly the ribbon cable is bad from the header to the main board, for some reason mice like to chew on them, in that case you can buy a new ribbon cable online just get one with same pins and length

Yes look at the pic a couple posts up. In idle attract mode ...(or when playing anything) Those rows of lights are supposed to be off like on the left side. On the left, one light travels around going up and down and on the right side one light is supposed to travel side to side. That DOES work, sort of. You can see it travel on the very top row but since those other lights are already on, you can't because they are already lit.

I almost wonder if somewhere in it's lifetime, it may have been stolen? The id tag on the side is gone and the maybe spray paint over the logos so it's not as readily identifiable?

I understand what you are saying about the ribbon cable. Sounds totally plausible to me. I'm no electronics guy by any means so I may be full of it here and I'm not disputing you, but my brain can't compute a broken wire making something like a light stay on. It would seem so me that a broken wire would make a light or something NOT come on when it's supposed to? UNLESS>>>> that broken wire is the one that carries the signal to the upper header to tell it to keep those lights off till it says to turn them on?? Its ok, you can tell me I'm full of it. I'm just trying to make it make sense in my head.

Yeah to be honest its most likely the board i seen it a lot with the sm and hb models usually random lights staying on and it not doing anything at all though like not letting you even start the game… finding someone who can repair it may be an issue

I may be just stuck with it then. not bad for a board I paid $50 for though! I'm still going to investigate that ribbon cable though. Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it!

still looking for the power supply cover. And it looks like I'm possibly in the market for a main board if I can get a good tested working one for a good price.

Hello JukeboxJon. I'm new to the forum and just purchased my 1st dart machine.
I have a valley cougar sm dart machine with honest ernie and I'm looking for the cricket button and switch assembly. Please lmk if you have one for sale. Thank you!

Hello, im sure i do i think i know which one your talking about, ill send a picture and you can verify its the right one

Yes that is the one. It does have the switch attached to it? How much?
Ill dm you, the switch and socket is a common part just snaps in the back, got what you need, what usually happens on those is some idiot puts the wrong sized lightbulbs in them, they get so hot they melt the plastic and the button warps and the piece holding the bulb etc gets brittle and crumbles. They make led replacements now use, i recommend using those, i forget what volts probably 12 but would have to check the manual. I have a ton of them wont be much/ 🙂
