v2000 torched a bunch of deflection board parts. Gonna replace 'em all. Else?

The monitor in my Asteroids Deluxe died a few weeks ago and I finally got around to looking at it last night.

What I found on the deflection board was some resistors that caught on fire and a lot of dead, totally off spec, or open parts in the "Y" portion of the board from what appears to be Q606 and up.

I am going to replace all these parts (most of these I verified as bad on the board and some of them are in the area, or on the same rail, where the fires happened so I am gonna replace them) which have been ordered:

RESISTORS
R605 470 Ohm 1/4w
R608 470 Ohm 1/4w
R613 27 Ohm 1/4w
R614 1k Ohm 1/4w
R618 10 Ohm 1/2w

CAPACITORS
C602 0.22 uF 50V Molded
C603 2.2 uF 50V Electrolytic

DIODES
D606 Diode IN914
D607 Diode IN914

TRANSISTORS
Q602 Transistor (NPN) TPS 98
Q603 Transistor (NPN) TPS 98
Q605 Transistor (PNP) 2N3906
Q606 Transistor Assy (PNP)
Q607 Transistor Assy (NPN)

The question I have is, what caused this? Is it ok to just replace the parts? I am worried that they will get hit with whatever voltage surge again if I am not fixing that and the parts will get torched again. Or, do you think what I am doing is the right path?

I read the XY B/W Monitor FAQ and I think I am going about this the right way but if you have any advice I would love to hear it before I apply power to the monitor again.

Thanks!

Chassis transistors (the ones on the frame) I believe aren't HV related, but definitely needed and cheap enough to replace if suspected.

Ok, I replaced all the fried parts and I was still blowing a fuse. So, I replaced the output transistors on the chassis and BAM! All fixed! W00t!

My picture is a hair too small and now I think I have a bad Y LIN pot on the deflection board. No biggie. But, yeah... w00t!

Pretty proud of myself on this one. I fixed it! :)
