Utah KLOVers, come participate in a location test for the new Darius arcade game!

A rare opportunity has come to Salt Lake City (well, more specifically West Valley City) as Taito and my own arcade, The Game Grid, is running a location test for Taito's brand new Darius Burst Another Chronicle. This is the first time Darius has returned to arcades since 1997 (G Darius) and it's the first time in a long time such a game is even being considered for release on the US market.

I've put together a webpage detailing what this game is about and I'll be adding more to this page and my site about it later this week:

http://gamegridarcade.com/darius.html

I also don't know of many public location beta tests like this to happen in Utah since we're not exactly the center of the arcade universe or a mega population center. It will certainly be here for a few to several more weeks so if anyone is in the area, drop by and check it out, especially if you are a fan of shmups of any degree. This isn't what I would call bullet hell shooter although it does have some difficult parts, so it offers something for everyone.

Also any feedback anyone has about it, let me know so I can pass that along to Taito.

That's awesome! I loved Darius Twin at my home arcade Golfland in the 80's. Also, I lived in Utah for 10 years, Provo, Pleasant Grove area, its a very high tech place actually. I started 2 of my tech companies there.

We certainly do like cool tech here. :) This is actually the first arcade version of Darius I have come across myself but if I ever do find an original Darius or Sagaia I'd love to try those out, see how the series evolved

Just bumping this in case any Utah KLOVers might have missed it. Come enjoy a great new shmup while it's still here :)

I've also added a players manual to the cabinet and updated the page I linked in the first post. I'm keeping track of high scores each week that we have it.

Man I need to make it there, I'd like to meet more arcade folks out this way. Ive been here a bit over a year and have only met two ppl in person and talked to a few via here.

I have met up with a couple of SLC KLOVers as well although I wonder how many of us there happens to be around here.

I'm not sure how many are around I know of you and i think two others on here, Then a few others. But thats a bout it. If I had a bigger arcade Id hold an arcade group party to meet and greet sortof of how we did in CA such as SC3 by Shetz. I heard about a newsletter of sorts or online group but not much else.

The only online letter I know of is the Utah Video Game Collectors email group. But it hasn't been really active for a while.

An arcade party would be a lot of fun, I'd be happy to go (if I could find the time! :p)
