So I'm eager to get home Saturday expecting a Jrok MW board. Nawwww......noooooo. Jrok had to be all responsible and send it signtaure required lol. Ok thanks James it's actually nice to know you care. Aww hell it's no big deal, my 14 year old will be there to sign for it on Monday. USPS doesn't even bother to make an attempt at delivering the package. You bastards! So yesterday morning I filled that little form out saying drop my shit without a signature (no worries I live in a nice neighborhood and the old people have no use for it) and dropped it in the mail box with the flag up. I go to get my mail last night and the little form is gone, there's mail in there and no package. I go into the house and my daughter says, "Nope no package." You gotta be kidding me???!!!!
Today I am taking half a day off today to get my kid to the optometrist. My mail arrives around 3:00pm. If that bastard doesn't drop me a package today I'm making a trip to the post office and chewing some major ass. While this may sound childish, I have had MAJOR problems with USPS in the past. What pisses me off the most is those workers get paid well and have benefits and alot of them act like teenagers working at a burger joint. Now the teeneagers I could understand. They aren't getting paid enough to care ;)

Sometimes carriers get too overwhelmed with certified mail that is surprise mail in the DPS system (automated mail) to the carrier (filling out another form) as well as other things. I'm not siding with the carriers even though I work as on as a sub a couple times a week. I've seen it first hand where they fill out the little peach slip, which you got in your mailbox, and never attempt to knock on the door to try and attempt to get a signature form your household. He must of had an overwhelmingly large delivery day that day + the postmaster has been cracking the whip on carrier's route times.. Are you in a rural or city zone? Sorry to hear about your woes, hopefully you get that package today! :)

You gotta make friends with your USPS and UPS delivery guys. Especially in this hobby. I make small talk and chatter them up every so often and leave them gift cards around the holidays. Definitely pays off when it comes to getting your deliveries.

Obviously you've never had a Priority Mail package come to your house when you're not home and a signature is required.

The Post Office is NOT UPS or FedEx. They don't do redelivery usually. If you're not there, they leave you a slip and you have to go to the post office the next day to pick it up. Since you filled out the form allowing them leave it without a signature, it's possible that they may bring it back today and leave it, but if not, I'm betting you have to go to your post office to get it.

At least, that's the way it goes around here...

I have had the same problem before. I was expecting a package, but I knew that someone would be home to sign for it. That lazy #%@& didn't even get out of the truck. He did not walk up to the house, he just filled out the little slip and left it in the mailbox. I went down to the post office and asked to speak to the postmaster, and complained, explaining that the carrier was clearly observed not making an attempt to deliver my package. I don't even think it was terribly important that I get the package that day, but still, it ticked me off. I was able to get the package at the post office, and they claimed that they would speak with the carrier. Don't know if it helped, but it least it made me feel better to explain the situation and get my package.

In 2005 I moved to Hawaii and forwarded my mail. In 2007 I moved back to the same place I moved from in 2005. Despite the fact that forwards expire after 6 months, for reasons no one could ever explain my mail was being forwarded from Hawaii to San Diego, then back to Hawaii from the old forward. It took me 4 times going in and talking to the postmaster to get it fixed. He could not understand why I was so upset at attempt 4 despite the fact that I explained to him in small words that my bills were not arriving. Post office = douchebags.

My parents both work for the post office. You guys realize there NOT supposed to even go to the door with packages.. I had an expressmail package coming and the slip was left in my mailbox that I could pick it up, they arent supposed to even go down the driveway.

Does anyone else but me find this mildly ironic from an outfit whos slogan is "We Deliver For You"? ;) I get around that problem, my "mail box" is a slot in my front door. They have to come to my door to deliver. :D

If the package is considered Accountable Mail and that will not be left at your door, regardless. Unless you sign a waiver of signature in which case it should be at your door. That goes the same for Express Mail, Priority Mail w/ Sig Confirmation too.

Just got home and I'm suprised - it was laying in front of the door. I'm suprised simply because the carrier doesn;t make his rounds till about 3:00pm. I guess what really took me by suprise was the fact that any other time I had something sent to me reuqiring a signature they tried 3 days to deliver. Maybe each branch works differently ;)
Alls well that ends well. thank you Mr USPS carrier you made my day!

they claimed that they would speak with the carrier

Who replied "I'm a union employee go f**k yourselves, like you could actually fire me ? HAH !"

I'll balance that with there are local postal employees who are great people to deal with and have always been 100% helpful.
Even getting me a package when they were actually closed but saw me arrive and still helped. But at the same time they
don't have a good way to deal with the employees who's seem to just hate having to deal with people and obviously hate
their job.

Hurrah !! I assume it didn't look like it was run over by a truck like the one DJW90 received. The board still worked but looked like the box had been used in a soccer game (!)

never had a problem with USPS. if I had it my way, I'd ship everything through them.

UPS or FedEx (especially) if you got like ground shipping with them, it doesn't matter if it's like 1 state away, they'll sit and beat their meat on the package for the full 5-7 days.

USPS, they go 7 days a week, and they don't play. :)

That's funny. I get UPS ground stuff almost next day in my regional zone.

Yup. Exactly.

My mailman is good to me. I hook him up a couple times a year with $10 just to say thanks. He knows I have very important arcade parts coming my way.

The exact same thing happen to me last year. Also, I never get magazine subscriptions and have had a few too many missing packages. I don't know what has happen to the USPS in my area but it's horrible. I use to tip the mailman every year for Christmas but not anymore…

I always get a kick out the t.v. commercials I've been seeing. They make it sounds like customer service is top priority which seems to be a bit of a stretch.

I really should tip my mail carrier or something. They're really good at delivering my packages and I get quite a few on the weekly basis. Shipping with USPS is easy as well with all the kiosks they have in most of the post offices areound here. That being said I think our federal postal service is fantastic.

Anything has to be better than FedEx. I ordered a 42" LCD tv online and received free shipping. I get a tracking # from FedEx, and follow it for a few days. One day it shows up "DELIVERED - CLICK HERE FOR SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION". So I click it, and it has a signature. Not MY signature, but some random person. I call FedEx, which is in another state. They immediately jump to "lets open a claim" which takes weeks and weeks and weeks. I simply ask to speak with my local terminal, which I was told cannot happen. So I dig around online and make 10 calls and eventually find my local FedEx terminal. I spoke to a VERY NICE lady there, who gives me the cell # of the driver who "Delivered" my tv. I call the cell, and the driver said he dropped my TV off at my local Wal Mart by mistake. He said WalMart had 3 large boxes delivered, and mine got dropped off by mistake. I call WalMart, and they tell me they have my TV, but only FedEx is allowed to pick it back up. I call driver back, and asked how he could let just ANYONE sign for and take my $900 tv. He said he usually lets the WalMart dock workers get in his truck and unload their stuff while he eats a sandwich. I told him that if he wanted to wear a FedEx uniform the next day, he will come to my WalMart and get MY tv. He got all pissy but around 8PM that night, I had my tv.

FedEx blows.
