I just copped it on pcenginefx for saying only cowboys use hot glue on their mods. Now when you're repairing an arcade PCB which is constantly handled obviously securing wires is often necessary but with a console PCB that is always contained in a case I just don't see the need.

A well soldered joint done with decent quality wire should provide a more than sufficient mechanical connection for this sort of work.

Opinions?

Small jumper wires can and will snag and get pulled off. A small dab of hot glue does a good job holding the wires down and is easily removed if needed.

hot glue has its purposes.. silicone is another removable thing you can use to secure stuff

and peel back off later(with more work than hot glue)

But yeah.. i dont use one too often no.
