So I finally got around to picking some up. I figured I would give it a try on my spyhunter. Is it pretty much just as the instructions say? Spray it on a connection, let it sit over night then spray on the gold stuff? Just figured I would check before I fowled something up on accident.

What sort of things are you trying to use it on?

I use Deoxit products all the time when I'm working on vintage stereo equipment.

Whoa, not overnight. Read the directions!

Went back an re read the directions a few times. The over night part is for really oxidized connections...I thought that sounded weird...reading directions on liitle to no sleep here.

What exactly are you going to use it on?

I was thinking of using it on the connections on my spyhunter..

I think the stuff is great. For a long time I thought my Crossbow pcb was messed up, as it would cut off the ends and beginnings of some of the sound effects. I used deoxit on all the connectors, and "Presto!" -- perfect sound now, every time.

I just wish it came in a bigger spraycan! :)

As in interconnect cables?

yep..the music on my spy hunter is starting to come in a little scratchy and staticy at times. I was going to look into using it to help that out. If anyone has any good advice im all ears.

Also, the voltage keeps dropping I dont know if cleaning the connections would help on the voltage, but I thought I might ask around and see.

Dude, I've got some 5.75 ounce cans of it -- they're pretty big.

Sounds like the DAC may be damaged.

I'm having the same problem with intermittent voltage drops myself; I'm about to cut off the head of the connector that delivers power to the CPU board and replace it with a freshly crimped one. Hopefully that'll fix that issue once and for all.

Just used this on my Computer Space that was not completely working. After spraying, letting it set for awhile, seating, pulling, and reseating the edge connectors several times I now have a fully working CS.

This will always be on hand from now on. I plan on using it again this weekend on my resetting Star Fire boardset.

Awesome stuff.

Tom, that's great! I was watching your other thread for a while; good to know you fixed it with something as simple as this.

I don't have much experience with the stuff yet, but I've used it on my Asteroids connectors that were very hard to dis/connect. Quick spray into the connectors, wiped clean, and they go on and off much easier & seat fully. I like.

Anyone use the small, needle applicator for stuff like socketed ICs or small pin connectors?
