Using both the AS & 60-in-1 with a double adapter

I am thinking to use MikesArcade double JAMMA adapter in the same cabinet with both the 60-in-1 and the ArcadeShop boards. The only thing I'm not sure about is the trackball. The 60-in-1 has a special connector for the trackball including power, but the AS board uses the player 2 joystick controls for input, and then needs power separately. So 2 questions....

1) Since Mikes Double JAMMA board keeps power going to both boards, I assume the trackball will get power regardless of when board is being played, correct?

2) And then will it work if I wire the AS player 2 joystick controls to the trackball, and splice them to the wires coming from the 60-in-1 board, or will I need to install some diodes so the signals do not interfere with each other?

Anybody been able to make this work?

Although Mike has now told me that this double JAMMA board will not recognize the AS board, so it may not work after all.

I wonder why. I would have thought it would work like any Jamma game.

Mikes says...

"the Arcadeshop multigame board doesn't pull the start buttons high, so it will not be recognized by the Double JAMMA board."

I am not sure what that means.

For the benefit of others who may have this problem in the future, this is what Mikes says about why the ArcadeShop multigame board will NOT work with his switcher...

Most game boards have a pull up resistor to +5 on each input. This pulls the pin logically 'high' or to +5. When you close a switch, it grounds the pin, pulling it logically 'low'. The Arcadeshop board lets the inputs float at between 2 and 3 volts with no pull up resistors.

The Double JAMMA board detects a game board by looking at the start buttons pins. If they are +5, it detects a board, if the are floating, the Double JAMMA board assumes there is no board in that slot and will not let you select it.

FYI: I told them of this problem years ago, and the manufacturer of the board didn't feel it was a problem.

BTW, if anyone out there knows of a potential workaround for this, please let me know.
