So, I thought I'd try UShip, didn't want to pay NAVL $280 to ship a game from NY. So, I registered on UShip, get a quote of $200 and guaranteed pick up and delivery in 2-3 weeks. I work the deal with Jeff here, pay the deposit to UShip for shipping and think it's all set up. I find out today the driver never showed up 3 weeks ago like he said he would and actually called Jeff the day after he HAD to be there because Jeff was leaving town for a couple weeks. The driver now tells me he can't bring it down for another 6-8 weeks!!! Plus says Jeff's lying about when he called to pick up the game. For $80 it would have been far easier just to pay NAVL and be done with it. UShip is investigating rather they will refund my deposit of $45. They will or I will put a complaint in with AmEX to get it back. What a pain.....almost as much fun as EBay......

Uship is a good idea in theory, but the companies competing for your business are what kills it. It wouldn't surprise me if a delivery showed up in a converted ice cream truck.

That sucks man... I guess I know where NOT to go for shipping.
One thing I am certain of...
That driver is full of shit if he's telling you Jeff lied (I'm assuming we're talking about JeffF here).

Worked For Me

I just used uship to workout the DL II cab I needed picked up in Detroit and delivered to California. I had a good experience with it. I think it just depends who you end up getting bids from. The guy doing my move, Rich with Moving Man, has been very professional and had EXCELLENT communication. PLUS, I checked his feedback on uship and he had great feedback. Plus, he gave me a great bid. He will wrap the machine on-site, then blanket wrap it, then soft ratchet it down to the inside of the truck. Door to Door delivery for just $300.00

Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know my experience with Uship. Considering the lowest quote I got from NAVL was $700, I think I did pretty good with uship.com

Of course, the machine hasn't been picked up yet. So, I will post any further issues if they arise! Keeping my fingers crossed that it will all go well

Of course you can do pretty well with Uship... Just as there are cool, professional people on Ebay/CL etc.

But sometimes people just take the cheapest offer without thinking "Geeze why am I getting 8 bids for $500ish and this guy says he can do it for $200?".

Well, for a difference of $80, I would go with the more professional, established business than take a chance on something new and iffy.

Now, if the difference was $600, then I'd probably try the new and iffy, and hope....
