Used CRT's in Reno

These would be perfect for guys building multi games that already have the VGA output on the boards. Wish I were closer.

Anybody have any idea what it would cost to ship a pallet (or several) of these?

Which input are you using for the converter board?

Tried them both. Originally started up with the 8 pin connector with the separate H/V with no success and moved to the 5 pin connector on the side of the board.

I have tried three games now. An Atari system one. This game works the best but is still jumping around.

A Williams Stargate. Basically tries to lock but never really completes the cycle. Spends most of the time with a light green full raster screen and occasionally will display an out of sync version of the game. Then no signal.

Sega Frogger. Pretty much the same as the Stargate.

From what I have read on the Forums and elsewhere on the internet. You pretty much need to clean up the vintage game sync signals to get these boards to work. My prior success has been with medium resolution JAMMA harness games that use composite sync.

I think I am going to go a different direction with these monitors. The Ceronix 2093 was made in a CGA version and it appears you could special order custom resolutions to make a EGA version as well. I have done a quick glance at both the CGA and VGA schematics and it appears the same board was used for either version. Probably different tuning caps and some modifications to the video board. A CGA version 2093 would be the better way to go and eliminate the troublesome converter boards.

If someone has a working Ceronix 2093 CGA board that they want to sell or trade for a working VGA version I would certainly be interested. An actual CGA board would be easier to clone than working from the schematics.

I don't have anything to contribute other than I hope you can get it sorted out and start selling them cheap to fellow Reno collectors!

I was able to grab 5 (well my dad did, and drove them back to his place in NY) and finally picked them up last weekend. Hope to put them through their paces this holiday season and see if I can use them with my system 2 games.

I'll do my best to post up some results.
