Used a Capcom->Jamma converter for GnG, now nothing boots past check screens
I bought a Ghosts n Goblins for a guy who I know is a reliable seller from my JAMMA cab. GnG is pre-JAMMA so it's got a fingerboard converter on it -- the game wouldn't boot (just a blank screen), and now when I try other regular JAMMA games they won't show anything or they get stuck at their check screen (CPS2 board won't go past initial ROM check; Tekken Tag gives me a "Looking for JAMMA video standard" screen that almost looks like MS-DOS text)
The only thing that works is my CPS2 18-in-1 board, which has an extra JAMMA passthrough board it connects to. However, the sound doesn't work on it, although all the controls work fine (Coin, Start, all face buttons) and all the games play A-OK.
It's possible I had the Capcom->JAMMA connector reversed on the GnG board itself when I tried to boot it (I know I didn't plug the fingerboard into my JAMMA harness incorrectly).
If anyone can help me on how to start troubleshooting or what likely should get replaced, please help me out. I can provide pics of the checks screens my boards are hanging up at, especially the Tekken Tag one which seems more informative.
Thanks.
