US Amusement..

This was posted on the arcadecontrols front page back on Sept 1:

Received this in my email today, short and simple:

U. S. Amusement Auction is out of business and no longer conducting auctions. The amusement industry has diminished to the point that there is not enough equipment available for sale to supply regularly scheduled auctions.

Thank you for the support you have given in the past.

They still sell NOS parts but don't do auctions anymore apparently.

Well, I wanted some NOS Make Trax Cocktail CPOs from them... so is it confirmed that they still sell parts, or what? Anyone know where their stock went to?

They still sell parts.

But I have a word of advice. If you buy a CPO find out exactly how they will ship and protect it because I ordered a translite marquee that wasn't packed well and it was destroyed in shipping.

Then they cheerfully mailed me a replacement (packed properly this time) but they coiled it up and put some tight rubberbands around it and that marred (and messed up) the replacement translite marquee.

I finally gave up. I paid for a NOS translite marquee that has lines down it that are clearly visible when the marquee isn't lit. They are good guys but yikes I'd hoped for better than this.

Shoot them an email; they still have stock.

I bought an Area 51 NOS cpo about a year ago and it arrived with no damage.
You need to send an email with the part(s) number and quantity along with your address and they will email back with a total and how to pay.

WOW, Guys! After 25 years of auctions, a MAJOR auction Company shuts down! I am surprised this has not gotten any discussion other than the NOS parts they still have posted. An era is ending in the USA here...The auction was a really fun thing for me, at least...as we got a chance to see how many of us "crazies" were out there collecting...and the excitement finding a rare game (I found my cabaret Polaris at an auction for instance)...
I liked the US Amusement people and got many good deals there....I am sad to see another venue closed, as they (with Rob Ritterhoff) were the only company to do New Jersey auctions in years....this will mena trips to Tennessee when I need more cabinets.
This is very sad news and another blow to the arcade collectors. Todd from TNT Amusements

It is a loss to us. They should have adjusted venue locations as auctioned items decreased. State Fair grounds can't be a cheap rental. There were many alternative locations they could use for fraction of the cost. The auctions were bitter sweet for me.. The smell of Columbus was bitter and to see the games were sweet :)

I remember Rob Ritterhoff saying at the Woodbridge, NJ auction ( I think it was April of last year) USAmusements was no more but he was going to do some stuff on his own. Haven't heard a word since. Anybody know if he's still planning on doing that? Gonna suck if its down to only Auction Game Sales in Baltimore once a year or the occasional FEC closing that always seems to be run by Superauctions.
