So upstaters... any interest in a little game day? The date is Saturday August 14th 2010 from 2pm until 9pm. There will be a basement full of games with room inside for another 10 if anybody wants to bring stuff to show off, sell, trade, get help fixing, etc. We plan to set up the tents for some outdoor gaming if the weather is decent or we could use that space for buying/selling/trading. Food is going to be "cookout food" with hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, spiedies, chips, soda, etc.

And if anybody wants to stay over to continue gaming on through the night, there is plenty of room for camping out back (we have 7 wooded acres). The kiddos and I are planning to camp out that night even if nobody else is. :)

Binghamton is very easy to get to with I81, I88, and I86(old Rt17) running straight through it. Our place is about an hour south of Syracuse, 2 hours south-west of Albany, 2-1/2 hours south-east of Rochester, and an hour north of Scranton, PA. (AND 11-1/2 hours north-east of Kentucky... but that's a long story!!!)

Would love to join in the fun, have the big ""John Deere" birthday party for the 2 year old all scheduled. No way to get out of that one.

....

Sorry Jeff - family coming into town that weekend - otherwise the 11.5 hour trek might have been considered ;-)

me and the wife would love to come..... ( are kids allowed??.... we have an 8 yr old daughter.... she's not a wild child or anything....lol )

we have a 10 person tent so the overnight camping would be great. can bring a game or stuff to play, trade, sell or in need of repair.....food, drink.....whatever.

edit:....what the heck are speedies anyway??

They are known as little pieces of heaven in this house. :) Basically they are 1/2" to 1" square pieces of chicken breast that are marinated and cooked to perfection on the grill. Endicott, which is 5 minutes from here, is the home of the Speedie so this area has *the* best marinade around.

For those familiar with the area, we would be getting them from The Spiedie and Rib Pit(oh yes Tim, that was to get your interest peaked!). :D

And kids are definitely welcome! If they weren't, our "almost" 8 year old daughter and her 10 year old brother would need to find some shelter PDQ!

Also if people are going to camp out... I'm sure my kids will want to join so we'll be out there too.

Hmm... if SRW's going, maybe I could just get a ride out with him when he comes to pick up a game in MA on saturday, and a ride back when he comes to pick up a game in MA on sunday..

As long as we can get a few people to commit on showing up, this will happen. :top: (and to be honest, it's already looking pretty good!)

For those who will be bringing a game(or two), let's start a list here so we don't have doubles or triples. So far, a local guy I work with is bringing over his Joust 2(thanks John!!!).

Games being brought:
1. Joust 2

Games already onsite:
1. Donkey Kong/DKII
2. Donkey Kong Jr.
3. Donkey Kong III
4. Popeye
5. Mario Bros.
6. Punch-Out!
7. Asteroids Deluxe
9. Tempest cabaret
10. Red Baron
11. Battlezone
12. Battlezone w/open face kit
13. Centipede
14. Dig Dug
15. Gyruss (which switches to Time Pilot)
16. Track and Field
17. Missile Command cabaret
18. Tron cabaret (in a Pac-Man style cabaret)
19. Omega Race cabaret
20. MultiPac (24-in-1 from Clay Cowgill)
21. Mappy
22. Galaga
23. Armor Attack
24. Crazy Climber
25. Wizard of Wor
26. Wizard of Wor cabaret
27. Gorf cabaret
28. Super Hang-On
29. Circus Charlie
30. Star Trek
31. Xenon Pinball
32. Firepower Pinball
33. Gorgar Pinball

Possible games onsite:
1. Tempest upright(possibly, unless I sell it to Casey first!!!) :)
2. Lock 'n' Chase (if nobody buys it before then)
3. Mr. Do (if I can get it back together first)
4. Space Encounters#1 (if I can fix it by then)
5. Space Encounters#2 (if it can be resurrected in time)

This has the potential of being a very fun day. The only odd-ball thing with our house/property is parking if there are more than ~15 vehicles. If people are sure they are staying a *long* time I'll probably just move some cars around back if parking is an issue. (I can also ask the neighbor to use his 600ft driveway but I'd rather not if I don't have to) :D

Fired up the Joust 2 today. Still works. I'll make sure it's there. Screen is starting to get a little fuzzy but still plays great.

I like that idea!

I can also bring out that Carnival cocktail for you. :)

It would be nice to see a list of what people are bringing to sell / trade.
