Hey Guys,
SO I've got my DK board working and now I need to figure out why the screen is upside down.

I have the monitor oriented the correct way in the cocktail body and the board dipswitches set to "Cocktail" but the picture in oriented the opposite way of the side that is supposed to be playing it.

Anybody ever hear of anything like this?

I'm kind of at a loss to explain it...

Was it working before you installed it? Or have you worked on it recently? If you (or someone) worked on it recently, then it sounds like the yoke wires are hooked up backwards:

If you had it working recently, didn't do anything, and this is happening, I've heard of board issues that have caused an upside-down screen...

EDIT: Just saw you said "cocktail". Does it flip between players? if so, you most likely have it installed upside down. if I recall correctly, it can go in either way...

I was thinking the same thing Mod...mine has the screen controls on the right side of the monitor (as sitting on player 1 side, controls are on the same side as the boardset)

There's jumper traces near the ribbon cable connector on the board to set color polarity. sync polarity, and flip the screen.

Hey Mod,
It's been like this since I got it.
Some OP hacked it up and turned into a TRIVIA WHIZ so who knows what he did to it.

I've tested it on 3 different boards and they all do the same thing.
Yes, it does flip in cocktail mode as it's supposed to.
No, it can't be installed either way (thought of that first) the plugs for the 100v & the speaker are only on one side and if I flipped it neither would reach.
This was originally a RADAR SCOPE cocktail...the newer DKjr/Popeye ones my be different but this monitor is built to only fit in one way, vertically.

This only applies to 2-board sets. 4-board sets have no such provisions.

Yeah, I figured that out later on.
I'm thinking about swapping the Yoke wires today.

The botoom line on this is that the OP that converted it did SOMETHING to this monitor...I just have to figure out what.

For $14.95 +SH you can fix this yourself.

You can flip 4-boards the same way you flip 2-boards... just
cut the trace at CPU Board, 3L:8, and jumper 3L:9 to pin 32 on the connector... That's all that's being done in the jumper block. Have some imagination.

Ok,
Problem solved.

I flipped the tube itself so the chassis stays put so all connections reach.
The only issue is now the annode cup it on the bottom only a inch or so above the monitor PCB.

Hopefully that won't affect anything in the future.

Actually i was just about to post the same problem. I have a Space Invaders cocktail and since i got it the sound never worked. The guy i got it from said he tried everything. Game worked fine, just no sound. So i thought one day. It's gotta be something simple. So i put a new fuse in. Sound works now, a little distored but it works. But now the screen is always facing player 2. Can't figure out what's wrong with it

If you were going to go that route it would have been easier to swap yoke wires.

I thought about it but frankly I wasn't sure where to disconnect them from and removing 4 screws and just turning the tube 180 degrees seemed the easiest and safest way to go.
