Upright Behavior In A Cabaret, Old Chum...

The only ones I ever remember seeing in the wild were when I lived in Lakeland, FL. It was at the Family Fun Center (which is still open last I checked) in their old location. In the back they had 2 or 3 cabarets, and the only one I can remember was a Jr. Pac-Man. This was around 87-90 timeframe. When they moved to a new location those cabarets must have not made the trip over, because I never saw them again.

The first three Ms.PacMan machines I saw back in the day were all cabarets. This made me assume that Midway was trying to cut costs by making a smaller machine. It wasn't until about 2 months later that I started to see the full upright and cocktail cabinets.

I saw a cabaret Space Invaders alongside a full size Phoenix at a Safeway store in Virginia, and a cabaret Omega Race at a general store in my home town. Coincedentally, that same general store also had the first cabaret Ms.Pac I saw and played.

I also encountered minis of Centipede, Dig Dug, Qix, and Donkey Kong at least once back in the day.

Never saw a Williams cabaret until I started collecting.
