... and man does it look better!

Here's the old version with 100ct clear Christmas lights in each letter...

And here's the new version with just two 5m strings of blue LEDs total...

The video doesn't even do it justice though. The blue is just soo pure that it looks like neon... only better(and I love neon). :)

I was going to try RGB LEDs but since the face of the letters is blue, the other colors didn't look right. Funny thing is red would not even light up the letter... the blue plastic completely filtered it out.

What's that, a 12 or 16 channel dimmable controller? High quality stuff there. Seems like DMX stage equipment. Let me know if you're selling any old stuff.

Much better with the LEDs!!!

love what you did with the controller!

Thanks for all the kind words. :beerchug:

I still can't believe I was the one who ended up with this sign. It's one of those things I look back at and wonder how it happened? The sign went unclaimed for a while before I got it... I think it was down to "just pay shipping because I don't want to junk it" or something similar. Crazy!

He knows I think it every time I see it and I think that makes him happy :/

Heh... Tim's correct and you're correct. :D

I actually have thought about moving it to your store but times like last night wouldn't work out so well... sometimes I spend 5-10 minutes in the basement before bedtime "just because". It's a strange kind of relaxing down there.

And I already have upgrade #3 in the planning stage...

The controllers are from Light-O-Rama. I've been into crazy Christmas lights(see http://www.mainelights.org for our display) for the past 5 or 6 years now and the controllers I used for that went perfectly with this sign.

The LEDs required a controller swap due to them being DC... but all the programming stayed the same. The only difference is the dimming curve with LEDs is different than with incandescent lights. I have to change a few things because of that but overall the upgrade was painless.

Yep, bored enough to finally install the LEDs I bought over a year ago.

And anytime you're in the area let me know. The arcade is always open. :beerchug:

Looks great Jeff. What's the story on the sign? How did you acquire it?

Someone here was giving them away after trying to sell them. I never saw the "for sale" thread but I did catch the "FREE" thread and responded.

Can't remember what the shipping was but I think it was maybe $50 or $60. And I think I gave him a little extra... but I could be wrong.

Wish I could remember the member's name because I'd like to thank him again! :)
