Anyone want to submit pictures of coin boxes that have not been included in the list?

Any additional cabinets, manufacturers, etc to add to the current list of boxes?

The list:
http://driph.com/words/2009/04/arcade-coin-bucket-cash-box-reference/

I've got a Gottlieb System 1 box that I'll be photographing and adding this weekend.

Feel free to attach any images (that you have the rights to) and info to this thread, and I'll toss 'em up on the server and update the page.

That's a great idea. I have got many games that were put on free play and the coin box was missing.
I have been looking for a picture of a coin box for a Star Trek cockpit for a wile now. I also had someone ask me about the coin box in a Dragons Lair so I put this web page together

Here are the pictures. Feel free to use them if you want. :)

Just took shots of the buckets in my converted Defender and my converted Karate Champ. While the cabs have been converted, the cash boxes are original to the cab. I can resize them and post them or if you've got image software and the time, I can just send you the big (10 megapixel camera) original jpgs. Or nef/raws for that matter, as I have the camera set to jpg/raw simultaneous shooting. Let me know and I'll make it happen.

Thanks guys!

Go ahead and attach the images here, any size is fine as long as the width is 500 min. I'll resize them to match the rest on the page once I pull them down.

If you add a box, and happen to know multiple cabinets it can be used in, post that as well! (or for that matter, if you know additional cabs that use the currently posted cash boxes).

Oof, the image size restrictions here suck for this kind of thing. I'll get 'em cropped down and up on my web space, then link them, give me 20 min or so.

Ahh, didn't think about that. If you'd rather, feel free to email the images directly, chris @t driph.com.

Took them down to 1000 pixels on the longest dimension with a bit of room to crop down if you need to. Only put up 1 of the karate champ bucket, as there's not a lot to see on it, got 3 angles on the Defender one because it's got some interesting details:

Let me know if you need a different angle/whatever on them, I can re-shoot them easily enough.

Updating the page now...

Anyone know if the Dragon's Lair coin box (#16, thanks to SaminVA), was used in other Cinematronics games?

TK_Monkey (or anyone else who can answer these), couple questions:

Is the Karate Champ cash box an interchangeable variation of the #4 over/under box, or is that box unique to Data East cabinets?

Did Defender use a different cash box than other Williams games? #13 is currently listed as the common Williams cash box, is that correct?

For those of you with Williams cabinets, can you check to see if you have the plastic #13, or the metal version that TK_Monkey attached in his post above?

For both of mine, I'll pretty much have to defer to someone with a defender/kc that's been original all the way, both of mine were converted to something else over time. The KC one could have easily been swapped in, there's barely any wear on it, and the conversion to a Time Killers was done no earlier than 1992. For the defender, it definitely feels like it's been in there forever (fits very snug) and certainly the wear on it where coins have gone in supports that as the game it was converted to (BloodStorm) wasn't enough of a money draw to have caused that kind of wear in it since it was converted no earlier than 1994.

Hopefully someone can hop in and verify/debunk those.

My Defender came with the same cashbox as T K Monkey's, except mine is not black - it's just plain metal. I've seen pictures of other Defenders with the same metal cashbox, so it's certainly not unusual. As has been said in regard to other Williams parts, I imgaine they used whatever they had on hand.

New update time! If you'v got pictures of coin boxes not shown, or additional information on included boxes, let me know and I'll update the page.

I found a picture of the coin box for the Star Trek Cockpit but I still haven't found a box for mine yet.
Anyone got one for sale? :D

I can tell you the dragons lair is identical to Solar Quest in every way from the box to the way it is mounted in the cab. Probably other older cine games, but I can not confirm.

I can put up one of the williams ones that is black with the metal bar on it.

Perhaps someone with a Gyruss coin bucket can confirm this. I inquired about a Gyruss coin bucket from arcadeboneyard and he sent me this pic, so you may be able to add it in:

Here are a few more coin doors that I haven't seen on the list

1. Taito (used in games such as Elevator Action, Front Line, Jungle King, Ice Cold Beer)

2. Gottlieb (use in games like Qbert, Mad Panets, Reactor)

3. Nintendo (used in games like (Punch Out, Playchoice 10 Dual monitor, Mario Widebody)

4. Stern (used in Berzerk, Freenzy)

5. Taito older style silver door (used in earlier versions of Ice Cold Beer, Taitotronic cabs)
