So tonight I have a spare hour so I head on out to the garage to check out this Battlezone. Did the usual hunt for 20 minutes to find all my stuff to test this thing, the usual multi meter, light to see with, battlezon pinout, etc. So I throw on the dust mask because you never know whats in these things and open the back door. It was all complete inside and the boards and monitor looked new I mean shiny with zero corrosion,I though "thats a good sighn" So I pop the edge connectors to check the voltages and every voltage was right on the money,"thats cool",I glance up at the monitor "neck glow ausome" I then tool around to the front and every light including the coin mechs were lit up.Another good sighn :) So now I'm feeling this 50,000 plays on the meter machine has a good chance to be fully working. So what the hell I plug in the game boards turn it on and here the monitor chatter walk around to the front and the start button is flashing"sweet". Look at the monitor and its on and working and looks bright from what I can tell but the picture is squished into a 1/8 inch horizontal line. No big deal thats an easy fix probly one of the transisters on the monitor frame. So I hit the start button and the game played fine. So the rundown is it needs the transisters replaced and in the bottom is a light dusting of dry yellow looking allmost looks like pollin but I would guess it was a tinge of mold that started then dried up. Anyoneknow what that might be just curious. Not to bad of deal I think for the most part :) But besides those items it needs a cleaning and thats about it. Hope you like the story......Dave

The story would have been better if I was the one telling it. :D Congrats on the clean BZ... Don't forget to reflow the solder on all the header pins while your working on that monitor.

You're still a bastard, maybe even on a grander scale now. :D

I'm just jealous of the deal you got. Nice find Dave.

You guys are Hillarious :D I may keep this one. I havnt had a Battlezone this clean befor. I just want to make sure I get every morsal of that yellow dust crap out of the botom.I'm thinking gut it, vac it, wipe it all down from top to bottom, then polish the parts as I put them back in :)
