same goes for bars and pubs...most people who frequent regularly are well under age 45. most are 21 to 30 years old. the people 45+ are drunks who sit at the bar and are not playing pinball. once again, they are too cheap. 50 cents or higher is "too much" to them.
i buy every stern that comes out for location play and i see kids/younger players ages 8-25 play them more than anyone else. this is at several different types of venues.
the ones in the bars earn less than the ones that have younger demo.
and yes, i also bet the LE's and wiz of oz go mostly too homes...they wouldnt earn enough to justify placing them on location. even thow im puting a transformers LE on location mostly because im a pinball enthusiast and try to keep it going in the operating realm.
with all of the above being said, of course nothing is 100% either way. im just stating from all my experiences what i see and experience. im speaking on MAJORITY terms.
elvis and rolling stones are great playing machines IMO, but they have earned less than any other stern title for me anyway in the past several years, and i believe its due to a well dated theme. i also have classics from 1978- 1990 on location and even the older clientelle pass those up...too cheap....no time..whatever else excuse. they see a machine and go "wow, i use to play that in college" then walk right past it without playing.
""""If Stern's gonna make 4 games a year, they can't all be for the same demographic. Bars and pubs are more likely to want an AC/DC pinball than Transformers. If those two are on the factory line simultaneously, they can be sold to different types of locations.""""
