I'm sure @mclemore is going to find some new exciting standard features in the upcoming 2.2.0 release (it's in Beta #1 mode now).

Currently KLOV is running the latest production release (v2.1.10 Patch 2).

More notably:

Yup... I knew this was coming... It was important to me to convert over-before- 2.2 was released. I didn't want yet more unfamiliar changes thrust on people... 2.2 offers different thread titles (such as Q&A etc)... We won't be implementing them immediately but want to when we can as there is a use.

I'm not looking to be the first site to move to 2.2.0 (beta)....

I have my forum to auto-check and upgrade:

Your version of XenForo and official add-ons are fully up-to-date. No issues were identified with your license.

Do you have this enabled (Admin => Tools => Upgrade Check) for KLOV or do you do the tedious installation yourself manually?

Yes, our forums auto-update. We haven't done this in the past, but the new forums are so complicated (and a tad fragile) that are continuing to run a dev copy... Unfortunately the dev copy doesn't have a URL that matches the one on file, so it won't update itself (automatically or manually). Other web software that has URL validation specifically allows for a non-public dev copy... unfortunately this one does not.

Note under ACP -> Setup -> Options -> Basic Board information, there is an option (by default) for 'Only check for stable upgrades'. We have it on the default. I'll give it another week or two and maybe we'll register the dev copy and then install the beta. We have an ungodly amount of plugins (third party and ones we wrote), so it's pretty much guaranteed 2.2 is going to break something.

cautiously optimistic. i just see a vast amount of features that most forums won't use.

oh no i totally get, even with my setup, i have that checkbox marked off to only check for stable upgrades... regardless - should be an interesting ride! let me know if you need anything from my end.

i doubt anyone really knows this new feature exists currently (i haven't come across any user profile that has a background like mine yet):

i think it's nifty! :)

I'll tell you one thing, it's ugly AF when you hover over a person's name, to get the summary of their profile. (As it makes the text far less readable.)

A good opportunity for humor though.

Yeah, I'm totally going to remove that. It hurts my eyes, I just couldn't resist. The comment about the face I made when I fixed my first board is 100% true.
