up for discussion again, the constant wave in my bud tapper

So I changed the chassis, with a completely rebuilt one from chris25810 and the picture looks great. It looked good before.

I mount the monitor with it folded away from the power brick in the bottom of the cab, and it shows up great. The closer the monitor gets to the power brick the start, and worsening of the monitor wave.

It is very similar to a cocktail I had without a shielded isolation transformer, and when the monitor got close to the iso, it had real bad color issues.

When the monitor gets close to the bottom of the cab, it starts to wave. I pull the monitor back up and it's virtually perfect.

Should I build some type of "shield" to go between the neck of the monitor and the bottom of the cab?

made the move and no change. I went ahead and took an extra chassis pan I had and put it over the top of my powerbrick section between the neck board and the bottom of the cab, no change.

Is it possible the magnets in the speakers are doing this? There are 2 speakers at the bottom of the cab.

Is the cardboard on the back of the neck board?

yeah it's on there. Should I toss some cardboard between the neckboard and everything else in the bottom of the cab to see what happens?

tell you what, I am going to do that and I will report back.

yeah no change. looks like I am going to close her back up and work on something else.

Something doesn't like something else, when the monitor gets put into proper position. lol

When the monitor is 2 feet from the guts of the cab, everything inside is happy.
just picked up my red tent from daveninja, so I could always go clean that thing up.

i had the same problem with my super pac cocktail. the electrical interference from the transformer brick causes the wave. if you open the top it probably goes away after it's a bit away from the brick, right?

midway designed the brick on these to have a metal cover/shield that went over the top. you can make one out of a thin piece of sheet metal. i did, didn't make much of a difference on mine.

The metal shield over the chip is installed on the chassis, right (http://www.therealbobroberts.net/go7.html <- right above the v-height pot)? You could try moving the power brick, or putting a metal shield over it. It's not the fan in the bottom of the cab causing it, right (assuming there is one)?

I assume there is one because I got it rebuilt from my main man chris25810, I can go check though.
edit: it's there

yeah like I said before I laid down a chassis pan between the neckboard and the powerbrick, virtually no change.

no fan, a couple more pics of the inside.

from the pic I am showing the big blue cap on the left has it's plastic casing peeling. Maybe that is irrelevant.

I am assuming this is a cocktail cabinet? Ok I just seen the pics so yes :)
Is this something that just started after changing the monitor or was it like this when you got the game?
Dose it have a separate isolation transformer or is it built into the power brick?
Ok I see in the pic it has one but is it shielded?
Yes speakers could cause this condition but easy enough to find out, just remove them from the game close it up and see if their are any changes. I see them in the pic too, do you know if they have been replaced?
It very well could be the power brick transformer giving off electromagnetic waves so a shield covering the transformer and grounded should help but should be made from non Ferris metal like copper or lead.
Good luck :D

Just did a search and found this picture of a Bud tapper cocktail.
Looks like you are missing the sheild over the transformers.

Guy I got it from had it for 10 or 12 years. Always been like that he said.
Iso is shielded.
Yeah I guess I go and remove the speakers next.
When you say a copper shield grounded. Do you mean earth ground?

Well it appears that I am. And you can kind of read "DO NOT REMOVE THIS SHIELD"

In your picture you have a black electric cord running from the molex plug next to the ac power plug running back to the front of the picture.
The picture I found with the shield dosent have this cord but looks like it has the molex connector. Where dose it go to in your game? The AC line cord maybe? Maybe someone rewired it and also maybe someone replaced the isolation transformer with an unshielded one.
