It's funny what an up and down weekend I had. Saturday at the bar, I was working on my UR Asteroids. It had a buzzing sound that just wouldn't go away. So I put in the A/R I just rebuilt, adjusted the voltage, and sound problem is fixed. So I'm actually in a good mood for the rest of the day, but like an idiot I decide to fire up the Tempest CT. It comes on and garbled graphics all over the screen. I figure I'll save that one for this week.

So yesterday after the Browns won one of the worst games I've ever watched, I decide to work on my Asteroids CT. The P1 and P2 are flashing quickly with the spot killer on so the advice I have received is to remove, clean , and reseat the IC chips which I do. Nothing. On top of that somehow the Braze high score kit was knocked off the table and broke one of the pins to mount it to the PCB. I'm thinking it was my wife's gdamn cat. So I go through it with the Asteroids, and no change. Oh, well. So I finally decide to take a look at my Bzone mini. WHen I fired it up during my KLOV gathering a couple months ago it came on but the graphics were sorta garbled. I simply did the eraser on the edge connectors and everything was fine again. I'm hoping it's the same deal with the Tempest. I just find it funny how things seem to even out sometimes, sorta like the "Even Steven" thing on Seinfeld.

I hear ya man... sometimes the arcade gods smile on you and sometimes they laugh at you!
I had a pretty good weekend, despite having a pin fall over (amazingly, no damage) because one of the leg plates was stripped out and I wasn't paying enough attention I guess (had enough sense not to try and stop it tho :) )

Fixed my firetruck monitor (just a shorted diode in the power supply). It kept blowing the fuse, so I figured I'd put a breaker in there to trouble shoot.. smallest I had was a 5A (fuse was 1A). Put it in, turn on power, watch diode sizzle, replace diode, smile :)

Made progress on the old shuffle bowler.. just needs a new coil now.

Got my Rush 2049 put back together and raced a few tracks...

getting ready for the halloween "zombie arcade" in the garage... should be fun!
cheers

I had an 'all up' weekend. I fixed two MC boards for customers, dumped good 9316 mask ROMs for Atari Basketball, and got one of my boards working. I'm almost caught up on all my commitments. :D
