Unwarranted Refund

Yeah, it's not the end of the world though. Most reputable, potential buyers can spot morons like that and look past a negative feedback leave. If a possible buyer looks at my feedback and sees the 1 neg and immediately says, "Oh, I'm not dealing with this guy," then I don't want to deal with them either.

I have never sold anything on Ebay but did deal with a shitty seller once, I even left him a neutral and he still gave me shit. I guess you just have to deal with the a-holes in this hobby from time to time.

I dont sell that often on ebay now, but they are blocked now as well.

Hell, I would email the guy and be like "thanks for sending me the board back. I plugged it up and it works perfectly."

And I would sign him up for a couple things to go to his email or address. You dont have to go crazy, but a couple things would be good.

I'm not sure. I never really even knew how to do that in the first place.

Sure you can - you can put a comment that will appear directly below his. Make sure to note it was working fine when shipped and still worked when received back. I believe you do it by looking at your account, and the option should be in there somewhere. I had a problem with a seller once who dinged me, and I was able to respond to it.

What an idiot.

You should email him and tell him to come and see this thread.

Wow, what a douche. Gets his money back, you're out shipping, and he has the hide to neg you. It's cases like these where buyers really do deserve neg feedback.

Make sure that you post in the feedback response that after he sent it back, you tested it again, and the chassis works all the way. Post a link to a pics of it working, next to the box he sent it back in.

Send a complaint about the neg to eBay, with pics of the chassis working eg on flickr, they might remove the neg for you.

Tech for 10 years, yeah right. Obviously not a very good one if he can't hook up a monitor chassis.

I reckon he received it, thought it was the wrong chassis and/or couldn't hook it up correctly, so that was his way of getting his money back and returning it.

At least he returned it...

Douche

yeah I contacted him to tell him my views on the situation....what a first class douche....

ME: Hi,

I just wanted to say what you did to zenomoph was pretty shitty man....I collect arcade games, and am a tech for an arcade as well...and sometimes things look like they have gotten warm...but they still work. This chassis was the same way but you never even tried it or you would have discovered it worked....but you had to have your "technician" look over it. Did he actually check components? Because that's what I would have done. And it was really really shitty for you to give him a neg....Oh, and I know i don't have anything up for sale now, but I sure hope I do soon, and at a good price, because your user id is blocked. Oh wait i forgot, you have another user ID....hmmm nothing fishy there.........

DOUCHE: Sure I don't want any of your junk anyway. You 2 can cry together for all I care. Block me like I care. You will have to do better if you want to hurt my feelings. Yes, I have 1 id for buying and 1 id for selling, both 100% feedback unlike your friend.

ME: First off, I dont know the seller personally. But I do know if I woulda been in his shoes I woulda been IRATE!. Yeah he got the chassis back, and you got your money back. What he didnt get back were his listing or paypal fees. He also did not deserve a negative feedback....thats the part that prompted me to contact you....even a neutral would have been a shitty thing to do, but way better than a negative...

Also, I was not trying to hurt your feelings....trust me im sure i woulda been a bigger asshole if thats what I was trying to do..just calling you out that you coulda handled things way better. Also, please direct me to the name and contact info for your tech as I would like to teach him a couple common sense things...

The seller is not a close personal friend of mine. He is part of a group of collectors, and we try to look out for one another.

Also, whats up with the dual user ID's again? Is that so you can shill bid on items you are selling or what? Kinda ridiculous..no? I have had one user ID for a long time and it has worked fine for both buying and selling. Why make people think what isnt true? Sure seems sketchy to me...

DOUCHE: Tried to talk to him....He was the asshole. Thats the why he got negitive. I really don't what anyone thinks how I do things. Block me and you don't have to worry about it. THIS WILL BE MY LAST RESPONCE AND THE LAST TIME I READ ONE OF YOUR DUMB REPONCES! So kiss off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my conclusion ----

A) first class douche who probably had no clue what he was doing and did not have a tech look at it...simply saw warm spots and never even tried to hook it up
B) Judging by the last post, not a fan of spelling or grammar. Probably 12 years old with his mommy's credit card.
C) A complete douche. And a blocked bidder in mine and i am sure a lot of others accounts.

Thanks for trying to stick up for me Josh. What makes me wonder is why he says I was the asshole. He contacted me and asked for a refund because the chassis was not as described and had burnt components. I told him that the components that appeared to be burnt were actually replaced/new, and the chassis wouldn't function if they were in fact burnt. He said that his technician "recommended not using it." I told him that I didn't think a refund was warranted because the item worked and he received it EXACTLY as described. He of course escalated it to a Paypal claim, which leads us to now. I was in no way, nor at any time an asshole. It was quite the other way around.

Some daft people think that if they don't get what they want, calling other people colourful names is the way to get it...

I doubt there's a third party tech involved on his end... So he just didn't like the look of one or two minor cosmetic blemishes on the board? Never mind the fact the chassis actually does work fine... Obviously, his superpower of bench testing a chassis just by looking at it doesn't work so well...

I noticed that also, but I didn't want to point it out because then there would have been grounds for me REALLY being the asshole.
