Unwarranted Refund

sounds to me like buyers remorse, dude hooked it up wrong/left something off and fried it, or hes trying to be cheap and return a fried chassis in return for yours.

In any event, if you know you sent him a goodworking chassis, id tell him to sod off.

fyi when i sell chassis i make some small marks here and there and photograph them(sdont show these on the bay)

then when some krap like this happens, get rhe chassis back, and if its not yours you will know right away

I always cringe when I hear the words "My Technician" just my opinion.
+1! That sounds like code for, "I fucked it up because I don't know what I'm doing but if I tell the truth I'll definitely not get my refund" to me, but I could be wrong. I of course have broken things for the same reason, but never go back and ask someone else to indemnify my stupidity.

Wait a minute, if it wouldn't work for your application, then how were you able to test it? Are you relying on *your* seller's word?

I was wanting to use it for my Mame cab, but the max resolution that the D9200 takes is too low for my video card. My lowest my card will display at is 800x600 and the D9200 won't display that high. I didn't find this out until it was too late. I tested via the CGA input on my MK2. It worked fine.

Now he's filing an actual claim with Paypal. The only thing listed as to the reason is ..."Internally Damaged." Here is how I responded..."The item was listed as working. The item left my possession working. The auction states "No Warranty is offered..." The buyer claims that the item does not work based on the opinion of another person. He has not told me whether he installed it and it does not work, or what specifically is wrong with it. The item was sold as-is with no warranty as stated in the auction. If the item is internally damaged, as he says, it was not in that condition when it left me. Since I have no control over how it is hooked up or installed, I do not feel a refund is warranted." We'll see what happens next.

Well, I hate to piss in your cornflakes, but even though you're clearly in the right, I believe you're about to get screwed by paypal. Why? ... because paypal is not a moral company, lol.

In Zion or Utopia paypal would obviously side with you. However, they're ran by a bunch of dumbasses who make incredibly rediculous decisions all day long, so i'm going to go ahead and call it: they're going to side with the buyer and fuck you out of a bunch of money.

I hate it for ya. Ebay shouldn't allow returns of any kind if you said in the listing it was as-is.

btw, be fully prepared for him to fuck you out of the money about a month from now too when he files a claim with his credit card company, who will fuck paypal out of the money, who will then in kind fuck you out of the money.

Lyons, I really hope you're wrong...

I've seen Paypal side with the "Well, something was delivered" thing before... They really don't care...

This is exactly how it goes. I bought a light fixture through private sale via paypal, never received the item. Filed a paypal dispute, seller admits they shipped it to the wrong address. What happens to me? I never see my money again ($140). Paypal admits I should receive a refund, but doesn't issue it due to lack of funds in the seller's account.... <insert angry face this forum needs smileys>

If your name were liu kang you could go down forward back back highkick on his ass.

I'm dealing with an idiot on eBay right now that is claiming that the board I sent out had jumpers attached and was burnt when he got it. He got exactly what was pictured (which was not burned!) I offered a refund less shipping costs but after him shipping the board back to me it would not have been worth it. Jerk off left me negative feedback ruining my 100%! over 120 + and that idiot ruins it......now thanks to eBays new policies, I can't even leave negative back for him!

That's all depending on how his money was transferred. If it came out of a checking account, I imagine it would be more difficult that going through a credit card company. I guess if it happens, it happens. It's not the end of the world. I'll keep you guys posted.

You can leave negative text in the slot, but yes, unfortunately, it still shows as positive. I feel this is about to happen to me.

I read that they can fight to have the feedback removed if you write neg comments with a pos rating. I dunno, I may just do it anyways. He really pissed me off though, I have worked really hard to keep those pos ratings!

A true technician would recognize score marks on a pcb for what it is - previous damage that has been FIXED. And "advise against installing it"? WTF kind of technician is this? Worst that could happen is ::gasp:: the monitor doesn't work.

I'm in the club that thinks the guy effed it up and it trying to pin it on you. Good luck.
