It's my post. I've sold two Untested Crazy Climbers for between $100 and $130. The international scene is pretty good for the popular boards. Trust me when I say that I did not get the board for nothing. Both auctions I won before cost me around 75 or 80. That's why Im trying to get $100 for it to cover my shipping and Bay fees. $90 shipped is the lowest I can do for previously stated reasons.
Why would you buy the boards off eBay and then not test them?!?! Makes people wonder if they are truly "untested"....
I've attached a couple of pics to put things into perspective.
Makes you wonder unless you are representing a group. You don't know me so why start with the insinuations. I'm an honest person that is still learning about games. Untested is untested. If you don't want to buy untested then just don't buy it. I've paid premiums before for untested and got burned, but it has also worked the other way around. I have a wall of PCBs behind me, most of which are untested. I buy way too much stuff, and then decide I don't want it and then sell it. I don't even know what's in the pipeline right now. I've attached a couple of pics to put things into perspective. Look at how many projects made it to my playroom. Can you say addictive personality?!
and i repeat wordwhy would you buy the boards off ebay and then not test them?!?! Makes people wonder if they are truly "untested"....
On a lighter note (not that anyone cares), but I guess I'm taking a road trip to El Paso. Just won three games on auction for a total of $300 (Q Bert, DK, and Asteroids). All need a little work but for me it's worth giving up a day for. Maybe I'll grab some BBQ while Im over there. If anyone needs a game driven from Phoenix or Tucson AZ to El Paso vicinity, then hit me up.

I've got at least twice as many boards as you... and I test every one I bring in. I don't bid on or buy boards I don't need or want (well, one exception is if it's a smokin' good deal I can't resist), as that may be denying someone else who may really need it.
I didn't mean to insult you, but I still just don't understand why someone would buy a high-end board like Crazy Climber and not test it....
Twice as many boards and you test every one? For the non-JAMMA boards that you don't already have a harness or game for, how do you do it? Do you create a PCB-in-question to JAMMA for each? How long does it take you to do this? How many of these "non-JAMMA conversions" (for a lack of a better term to call them) do you have wired up at this point? Do you just run voltage to the board and video to the monitor? Or do you test sound and controls too? What do you do about boards where you can't find the pinouts for them?
What do you do if the board you buy was advertised as working but when you test it, it doesn't? Do you do a paypal disputes? If you have that many boards, I would expect you have run across many that were advertised as working but didn't.
If you can test that many boards, would you consider testing boards for others? I'd pay you to test mine. Not troubleshoot, just test to know if it's working or not. Even if you aren't interested in that, can we at least see a list of what you can test? That would be impressive in itself.
I'm in no way flaming you or doubting you, just trying to get a handle on how you do what you say you do. I have bought many boards that I want for games I hope to get or on op raids that they were too good to pass up. With wife, kids, job and other "real life" things, there is no way I have the time to build a test harness for every one. Other than games I already own, I can't test any of my boards (unless they happen to plug into games I own like an Bally MCR board or something).
I have an open invitation to local collectors who want to come over and test their boards. One simple rule: Bring Beer.
