I'm putting together a Star Wars, and one of the speakers is all ripped up. I have another speaker I can use, but it's not shielded. Think that will be an issue or should I just pick up a shielded one?

How far away is it from the monitor? If it's too close the magnet on the speaker will make the monitor have discoloration. If it's far enough away no problem. - Barry

Considering the design of the cabinet i wouldn't worry about it causing interference with your monitor but I would recommend setting it in its place and fire it up to ensure that ballast isn't going to cause you some hummmmmmmmmmm

been a while, but I don't recall the originals being shielded, were they?

I installed unshielded 6x9 speakers in a Star Wars and never saw any hint of an effect on the monitor.
