Not even remotely true! :D

What if I'm the only bumping this thread up? :poke:

Last week I was finishing up the code for updating the FPGA from SD card :D

Been slowly but surely working on this, just don't come on KLOV much anymore, maybe things have changed
Dude, I'm very happy to hear that this project is still alive. I definitely still want this!

Great news to hear!

There is still much interest in this project in the "community".

Keep up the great work on this!

At this point I think it’s likely you’ll see support for Vs boards on MiSTer before this kind of project is completed. Which is good, because that’ll mean you can get all Vs games on one system *and* it’ll replace original hardware completely, meaning no more relying on old hardware. They’ve already got DK and Jr working (and maybe others) as well as NES and SNES, so I wouldn’t expect it would take a lot longer to work through the things like PC10 and Vs architecture. Most of the hardest parts are likely already done.

Agreed. The whole point of this project is to be able to play on original hardware. Everyone knows there's emulation options and that's not what this is intended to be.

Man, I was out of the hobby for a few years and it's crazy to see this thread get necro bumped still. Haha.

Fun fact, I think this is Naz's mode of operation. Lol. Folks been waiting years for him to complete Atomiswave repro carts after hyping them up too.

Hook us up @nazerine finish some of this work! ;)

I just came across MiSTer and will be getting one for sure.

Pretty cool.

So you are saying Brizzo and nazerine are the same person?

If so, he's also working on the IREM M92 multi kit as well...

Fake bullshit. It’s everywhere.

Well it can't be both.

It can be fake. It can be bullshit. But if it's fake bullshit, then it's not bullshit.

:)

But I'm still hoping that all of them are still somewhere marching forward...

Oh, so basically converting your original game to something completely different.

That’s a far cry from a ROM set replacement.

In most (maybe all) ways, it’ll be better. It’s 1:1 hardware emulation, so it’s likely to play identical to the original once fully baked. What’s more, there’s hardly anyone out there repairing boards and eventually there will be more people that want working cabinets than we have working boards (especially if/when custom chips start failing that are NLA). It’ll be easy to use a simple adapter to replace your mobo with a MiSTer. You’ll have a nice multi-game menu to play any game your monitor/controllers support, and they’ll all be identical to the original.

I grew up in the hay-day of the industry working in it. I despise MAME for the most part and love original games. But MiSTer and other FPGA projects are going to keep games alive and basically identical to the player for a LONG time.
