Anyone have any experience with these? I have a variety of monitor chassis sitting around that need repair (I really dread working on K4600's). In the interest of time, I wonder if this might be a real quick fix for some of them.

There is a seller on eBay called ClassicGameRooms that has some for $79.95.

Has anyone used them? Do they hold up? Can I expect to get 10 years out of them?

if you search for "universal chassis" or "wei-ya universal chassis" you will find lots of info on these

not all positive either

The 4600 has a low impedance yoke, but it's just a bit under the specs the universal chassis needs so some picture distortion may occur.

In general, the universal chassis might arrive D.O.A. or it might crap out after a couple of months. This is due to absolute crappy bottom-of-the-barrel electrolytic capacitors being installed. I've had to recap these chassis in as little as 3 months of commercial use, but when I do recap, I use much better quality capacitors. If you want ten years of life out of these chassis, then you better start by replacing all the electrolytic capacitors with high temp 105 degree rated ones instead of the stock 85 degree ones.

Also, the chassis will come configured for Asian standards and not USA standards. You will need to "Americanize" the chassis with the correct connectors to be plug n play compatible with the wiring in your machines and with monitor pattern generators as shown in my thread here:

The monitor chassis will come with a phony baloney 5 pin video input/sync connector that needs to be replaced with the conventional 6 pin Molex "KK" series .156" male header connector. Also, the AC power cord will come with a standard wall outlet style plug on it. DO NOT PLUG THIS CHASSIS INTO A WALL OUTLET, IT WILL BE DESTROYED IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DO SO! What you need to do is chop off that plug and install the conventional two pin Molex monitor power connector to match the plug in your game cabinet. This chassis requires being powered by an isolation transformer.

Thanks! I might order one and cap it immediately. I appreciate the thorough response. Consider this thread closed. Hopefully it proves useful for others as well.

one more thing, you need to make sure the new chassis' neck board has the same pin configuration as your tube and the yoke resistance is supported/compatible just as Ken mentioned.
