I have the Universal Lady Bug with a Philips monitor in it. The high voltage box that is on the on the panel thing that controls the monitor has went out. Its kind of exploded. I dont know what to call it and Im lookng for a replacement can someone help me out with this? Thanks.

You probably don't have a Philips monitor.....Philips is (more than likely) the manufacturer of the tube. Think of it like this......you open the hood of a Dodge truck and see Hemi splashed across the engine/valve covers......You don't have a Hemi truck, you have a Dodge truck. Hemi made the engine IN your Dodge truck. Philips was a tube manufacturer and made the tube for your monitor.

A lot of Universal games came with Toei monitors. Toei flybacks are hard to find. Post a picture and someone can probably ID your monitor for certainty.

You're not a car guy are you? Hemi just stands for hemispherical. It is the shape of the heads.;)

Elutz is correct other than that. Take some pictures of the board that has the flyback on it. Somebody on here can identify it for you.

Well that figures Im an idiot at these things. I just saw the big Philips sticker on it. Ill take a picture tonight If I can get to it. Iv been busy today. I get the truck thing of course. My dodge is a Cummins. I wouldnt have it unless it had the Cummins in it.

That's a Toei model CM-F20U.

Regarding a replacement flyback......you could be in for a long hunt. To my knowledge, that flyback hasn't been made in years. You have several options......try to find a NOS one (which could be a lengthy search), find a working used chassis and just replace yours (not the most common monitor, could also be a lengthy search), find a broken chassis and rob the flyback and hope it's good (same as previous), or replace the entire monitor.

I bet you could just replace the chassis a new one from alva amusement. They are pretty cheap and I've had pretty good luck with the two I have. You'll need to know these things...

One thing to keep in mind.....those Toei's are 100 volt moniotrs, and they don't use a "standard" neck pinout.

If I could go that route, how would I figure that info out? Is there a tag somewhere? With my luck I wont be able to see it.
