universal chassis

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I believe the Matsushita's had their own tube, which meant there's no replacement board that will connect with the right pinout to that tube.

Notice it's spelled Matsu shit a.

Sucks, man. BTW, what's yours doing? It may be repairable.

Hey - thanks for offering to help troubleshoot!

I made a video of it and posted last week. It is my first YouTube video so I apologize for it and the sound. I also have a bad Pokey.

The PO apparently did a Cap Kit, and close examination of the board did not reveal anything obvious. Please tell me what you think!

Thanks again -

It's not the 'standard' B&K cr23 pinout. Not sure what it is in the B&K adapter world. I have to use a universal clip on adapter on my Sencore then follow the pinout in the book.

Random story... but the tube might be worth saving if you're thinking about chucking it.

My PolePosition came with a Matsushita monitor, it was trash. I didn't even bother trying to fix it (neck board was hacked to hell and back)... just put in a 4600 and called it done. But, a couple of years later I got a photobooth... when they were loading it the printer in there slipped back and shattered the neck on the tube... I grabbed a spare tube and the pins weren't a match. I looked all through my tubes to find something that would work in there. There was only 1 tube that matched. ... That POS Matsushita. It's weird... great tubes on those monitors, but the chassis are just such piles of shita it's unbelievable.

As for the topic... I -think- if you contacted the companies that sell/make the universal chassis, they -might- be able to do something for you... but don't quote me on that.

I unfortunately had a matsushitty in an Xevious about two months ago that had a bad tube. Really dim, bad focus, etc. So sometimes even the tubes crap out.

They have pretty good pictures, though, if you get one that hasn't caught on fire, lol. I've had several in millipedes that looked nice.
