I have an ARII -02 and I need to replace a -04 in a Food Fight cab. From looking at the Elektron Forge website it appears that the -02 supplies everything the -04 does. Can I replace the -04 with the -02, and for that matter can I replace any future ARII with a -02 (I have a few of them).

Yes, you can us a -02. Golden Rule of ARII (with the exception of the -01 boards) the later the revision, the more parts they stripped off. You can use any ARII that is a earlier version of the one you have. It will just have stuff on the board that's just not used.

Thanks. I figured as much, and was planning to verify with the schematics tonight, but it is always nice to have some positive reinforcement.

You of all people, should know that you can do this without issue.

I have never bothererd swapping ARII boards. I usually repair and reinstall, but in this case I can't make it back out to Redmond very soon.

Like I said, I did intend to check the schematics but I haven't had much time between babysitting sailors and GS workers...

Actually the rev-03 would be the universal AR-II. It's the same as the rev-02 except it allows more current on the -5V and +12V lines. But in most cases they should be interchangeable.
