Picking up a united casino shuffle alley fri need to take it apart to remove it from sellers basement any help on disassembling this thing would be greatly appreciated

It's not too complicated, just heavy. The pin hood & alley sections should be attached to the cabinet with bolt screws. Just make sure to unplug all the jones plugs that run from the hood/lane sections into the inside of the cabinet first before you start unbolting anything. You don't want to break those.

Basic tools (pliers, socket set, screw drivers), a hand truck, and a strong back if your moving up stairs. I've been there, Good luck.

Here is a quick photo of the machine just re assembled it the only problem is the player five score is stuck and won't reset. When you play for that player the score keeps gong crazy and counting up after you bowl I'm new to EM machines so bear with my descriptions.

It looks to be in very good condition. The score reels on the old ems typically get gummed up from sitting and need to be gone through to free them up - the manufacturers used grease in the earlier models that hardened up over time. There are some great em repair tips on pinrepair.com, and you can also purchase the Tops #8 video about ball bowler restoration on marvin3m.com/top

I cut my em teeth on a ball bowler myself and the score reels were the first things I had to go through. If cleaning them and freeing them up doesn't fix them then a contact likely needs adjustment on that score reel - easy fix. Best thing you can do to keep an em running properly is to play it often.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

Thanks for the info other then that the play is fine and I think I like the bells and the score reels a lot better then the newer machines after the score is fixed just needs some elbow grease to shine up the cabinet

Actually, the score going nuts sounds like a score relay with contacts that are too close together - you need some spring tension and gap or they stick closed.

I'd suggest getting the schematic out, and seeing which relays feed the score unit - which ever score number (10, 100, 1000) is incrementing is where you should start looking. It all goes through the player select unit, but that ususally isn't where the problem is.
