I've got an old United pinball I'm going to pull out of storage to work on and thought I might get some advice to get started.

Someone put a new power cord on it and there is power coming off of the transformer but otherwise it is dead in the water as far as the lights.

My question is regarding the switch under the box. Although it's located where the normal on/of switch is, it looks more like a reset switch. What is it?

Any other advice on where to get started would be appreciated.

Thanks, this one is postwar, and I love marvins info too, I'm just trying to figure out if it's supposed to be an on/off switch or something else

It's probably a switch to zero out the replay counter. '40s games could award silly amounts of credits which were more likely to be paid off by the bartender than actually played. My Genco Seven Up could award 77 replays on one game. It has the same button in the same place.

The prewar pinball group is a good source of info and such for relics like these.

Thanks so much, that makes sense based on the style of switch. Do you know if these typically have an on/off switch somewhere else?
