Dropped in to visit an op i know about an hour away today. He has an old building off to the side of his main shop, where he keeps alot of junk. I've gotten a few craptastic cabs out of there.. bagman, robotron, etc. I ask him if i can go look through it, and he says "yeah we just got the roof fixed, it collapsed and smashed 3 or so pole position games" lol so i go up on the second floor, lotta junk. beat up water damaged redemption, a few drivers, nothing spectacular. There's a redemtion game that's huge, with a broken globe on top, and smashed pole positions around it. I walk around it, and what do i see sitting behind it.. wasn't smashed, but has water damage. He claims it even works, i didn't try it. got it for 150.00

Nice!

rich has the art
everything else can be rebuilt if it's not working

I was really going to dive into this 'project' awhile back but needed to make room.

cool pick up

Nice Find! I haven't played one of those in forever! Cant wait to see it fixed up! :)

Thanks! This was in the upstairs of the building. I'm going to go back and get the pole position stuff.. and the lower building had no lights but I was told there's some classics in there too.

3 of us had to pick this game up about 30" and stick it out a missing window onto a forklift from the 2nd story. i was medicated when i did it, and i can really feel it now. getting it out of my van was fun too.

i got them in a trade, and haven't had time to look at either one. I have 3 asteroids and 1 Deluxe so i figure i can make at least one of them work lol

Wow, nice pickup. I would LOVE to have one of these. I remember playing it with with my brothers when I was younger. Nice to know it went to a guy who can fix the cabinet. :D

that i can! i am wondering where i will find shifter knobs, and is there any saving the steering wheels. This one may get bumped up the restore list pretty quick, it's just too awesome to let sit.

Wouldn't an 8 bal for a shift knob just be awesome?

time to fire up the '78 Trans Am! ;)

I'll double check to see if I have any extra shifter knobs but I'm pretty sure they were sold with the extra shifters. I will also check with our head of engineering because he told me that these threaded ball tops are still available and that he had a catalog somewhere.
