Under no circumstances will any RAM Controls parts be allowed for sale here.

I am a fiery guy (on occasion), and I want it to be known, that as I type things, I get on a run and go with it.

This clearly is a debate, though not with an outcome pending. The decision was made and I will help to enforce it, and support it.

It is worth noting that almost nobody here is a bigger fan of andrewb than I am. I hope my comments/tone did not distract from that fact.

Any of the members here who may have felt like I was getting personal, that is unintended. :)

good day

I second Tron Guys statement 100% Andrewb is a great KLOVr and brought up valid points in this debate. Yes the ban is harsh and yes it affects some legit people. I reached out to a couple before the rule was made. They understood and life goes on.

So are you suggesting that using an emotion when making a decision is a bad thing? haha

When it interferes with one's ability to fully think through the details and consequences of that decision? Absolutely.

(And I don't mean that snarkily, so don't take offense.)

I get that people are hurt. And as much as I would love to quote Tombo here and say, "Life is hard, this isn't a safe space, etc", I do genuinely feel bad for that whole debacle, and the people involved. I've been a collector since 1991, and I know how much money he/they made off with. I get that, and it was horrible.

And as others have already beat me to, I'm sure it feels good to say 'screw that guy and his parts', and not want them here. That's fine.

And in no way am I trying to justify this member's behavior, or argue that he's a good guy, or I've been to his house, etc. But whatever parts he's unloading these days, he appears to be selling outright. Either he's given up trying to scam, or enough people have been successfully made aware that he just hasn't been able to be successful at it. Either way, I'm not aware of anyone having been scammed in recent history, and I think that's an important piece of info (and even more important if that's actually not true, in which case, someone please speak up, with details). It all comes back to my original question of 'what problem are you trying to solve' with a ban. (Which I don't think anyone has ever really answered, but it's moot now.)

However it's the practical aspect of what is basically an unenforceable ban that is of bigger concern. Are you seriously going to harass every person who tries to sell any item on the list of 'contraband' items, requiring them to somehow 'prove' that they are original, and not RAM?

We already have KLOV Price Police, which already deters many people from selling here. The last thing we need on top of that is a KLOV Gestapo, asking 'papers please' to innocent folks who have nothing to do with things that happened in the past, and just want to restore their games and be part of the ecosystem here.

And for the record, I too think this is a good discussion, and I think it's great that we are all keeping things civil, even though there are differing points of view.

I still love you guys, too, even if I am giving you a little shit (and vice versa), respectfully so. :)

Group hug.

So, if a game has some Ram Control Parts on it, does that mean it can't be sold here?

Ram Controls is before my time, but yeah, very very var sad story what happened.

I don't think it is a real question, but the answer is, sure, why not.

Unused or individual RAM control parts/kits will not be listed for sale on this forum until further notice.

Everyone lists their high priced shit on ebay anyway.

I addressed that in the post above (quoted)

whoops, I didn't quote enough. The question was posed earlier that someone may have a major havoc complete game with a replacement roller on it.

It's still a silly ban on onesies or twosies, but yeah life goes on and eBay brings more money in anyway on parts like that for those looking to sell. Me, I tend to hoard, especially Major Havoc stuffs. :D

I think we're past the point of no return here. Nobody is getting their money back.

Isn't there a statue of limitations? Even if that doesn't apply, what if he scammed y'all so hard and has no intentions to
ever pay any of you back until his death? no court system will force a drug addict, gambling addict, jobless, homeless,
income-less human to pay anything back.

this entire thread is pointless and sigh heavy. doesn't even make sense to keep it open anymore as there is no debate.

You obviously haven't heard of Kevin Kulek. Surprising since he lives in MI for now. Guy scammed the pinball community for an estimated 500k-1mill and is about to lose everything including his freedom, and take his entire family with him.

Wow love to hear the story on this? That's crazy! I'm a vidkid so I never hear any juicy pinball drama, but that's big!! Was it a pyramid scam?

Markrl is not Ram controls, I talk to Mark fairly regularly. The Guy is an expert arcade cabinet builder!! He also has good resources in making a wide array of repro parts... Great Guy!! And yes his name is Mark. :) He is not FizGig(Dan) either, met FizGig before at his arcade warehouse.

I can vouch that Dan and Mark are two different guys also. I spoke with Mark for about an hour when he was working on his Rtype cab projects, he was looking for Coin doors. I sold Dan his two Rtype kits for his builds. Both spoke to me through my cell. Mark has been a very helpful guy when I needed a repro rtype CPO or marquee. I ordered one set a few weeks ago and he was nice enough to send me two.

I'm one of those people that gotten taken for some really good parts back in the day. Amazing that what he did is still being talked about as much as it is.
I sent him a load of parts I had up for sale believing he would pay - I'd just bought something from him shortly before (flight controller for SW). He based his Lunar controller off of one I had along with many other parts I sent him and never received a penny for. Sad part is at that time we really needed the money for Christmas and that's why I had the stuff up for sale anyway. It is what it is.
Somehow I felt like I got some last laugh when I bought out what was left of the arcade shop supply of havoc controllers years ago. He made good stuff, unfortunately, he was a crook.
I have mixed feelings about not allowing anyone to sell anything that was made by him/them now that it's all past, in a way I like it. In another I'm just not sure it's fair to a collector that needs to get some money out of it. Just a sad mess this guy left behind.
