Kinda surprised there isn't a thread on this already. Anyone else playing this? I've beaten it on hard, and I'm about to on super hard (or whatever it's called). I love the graphics, and the story line/acting is top notch, but the controls are pissing me off.

I would love to have a crouch button instead of this STUPID take cover button. I can't count how many times I've tried to take cover behind something, only to roll right out in front of the enemy.

It also seems like there is a delay when running between telling him to turn and when he actually does it.

I've also had numerous times when climbing that I am pushing in the correct direction and I either do some stupid humping the wall jump, or I completely miss the target. Similar complaints when trying to scale a waist high wall, and just jump upright grasping at the air above you.

Anyone else have similar complaints?

*edit: just beat it on "crushing". I still enjoyed the game, but I don't remember being this aggravated with the other 2...

I have it at the front of my queue, but haven't found time to play it yet. Mattroid's beaten it already (talked about in the What Are You Playing? thread)

I'm with you there, man. The game and story are good, but the controls in this one just seem jacked up. I'm not sure if it's just that the control style is getting outdated or if there really is something wrong with the controls in U3. I guess I'd have to play U2 again to see if the same complaints happen there or not.

I'm 95% sure it's worse than UC & UC2. I never had this many issues with them. And it's not like I was going from game to game, trying to relearn control schemes. I finished Dead Island before this game, and have since moved on to MW3 (besides a bit of trophy cleanup in UC3). They both had controls that are much more fluid. Even aiming was hard in UC3.

I think the delay in changing directions was because they tried to make it realistic, and you can be sprinting full speed and instantly change direction. I played MW3 yesterday with a buddy on split screen, and running/jumping in front of him looked 100% fake. I'm pretty sure most of UC3s control issues come from them trying to make as realistic as possible. My kingdom for a crouch button though...

I doubt I'll even try beating it on Crushing, then. If the controls weren't so bad I'd like to at least give it a shot.

It's not that hard, just frustrating at times. This game would be pretty easy if it had MW3s controls..

I kept wondering if it was just me since I'd just finished up Arkham City (with similar but much better/fluid controls). Then switching over to Assassin's Creed after U3 made me even more confused :p Too much at once!
