My trap door will not test. In test mode, I hear a thunk cycling, but no door motion. When I boot up in test mode, it says check sw 76 which is trap door closed switch. I checked the sw with a ohm meter, and it works. No broken wires. If you manaully move the solonoid plunger, the trap door locks open. When you turn on the game it slams shut and gives the test error(sw 76). Any ideas. Should I test it with the playfield up to see what it is mechanically doing? not sure on this one.

more testing led nowhere....

The click I heard was the trap door close solenoid cycling. The problem I have is the trap door OPEN solenoid. It is not firing in test mode. I checked the coil. It's good. I shorted it to gnd, and it fired. I checked the single solenoid gnd wire going to J130 with good continunity. I checked driver transisters Q64 and Q63. They both checked good. I am at a dead end.

Only wierd thing is no connector harness on J107. It appears to be on J106. I think it is put there in error, however, it looks like the 50V supply voltages are identical, so it may be wrong, but I don't think it is causing the problem. Is J106 an unused connection on Funhouse? Is it safe to move the harness on J106 to J107. It looks like it fits better, and matches up the wires. My wire diagrams are too hard to read to tell.

Thanks

One more solenoid out in FH...

I moved the wire connector from j106 to j107. It fit better with the same voltages. I think j106 is unused in FH. Some flashers starting working again also.

I ran a solenoid test, and 2 fail to work, trapdoor open, and knocker. They both failed off, NOT locked on. They only share a fuse (F105), and a supply violet/yellow wire, which both checked good.

I checked all four driver and pre-driver transisters (Q64,Q63,Q68,Q67) - all good
checked diodes for each solenoid - good
shorted both the coils to gnd, both solenoids fired ok!

I think it is wierd that I would have an open failure on driver transistors for 2 seperate solenoids, and both transisters check ok on a DMM.

Is there anything I am missing that ties these together? I hate to pull out driver transisters that check good. Very odd 2 would fail open and check good.

Ensure you don;t have the trap door disabled in the OP menu :D
J106 is not used - considering J106 only has 5 pins and J107 has 6 I'm sure you made the right choice.
Believe me, just because something tests good in circuit doesn't mean it is good. You can use an alligator clip wire and ground the collector of Q64 and see if the solenoid fires otherwise pull it out of circuit and test it. Also pull a leg out on DIODE (D251) and test that as well.

Bottom line: If your solenoid fires by grounding locally, your fuse checks out good, and you have continuity checked the solenoid wire lead (J130-6), then it's got to be a driver board side issue.
