I was excited for this collection until I recently heard a developer interviewer saying something along the lines of "while the game has rollback netcode, the quality of the online play may not be as good as modern fighters using it."

And I also found out it does not have cross play and they aren't sure if they will ever implement it.

When announced I was getting this at launch but now I'm waiting for it to some out and hear some real world feedback on it.
 
The Wavenet version isn't as great as it sounds on paper. Tweaks and delays had to be added to the game in various places to compensate for the lag in the connections (a prime exampe was Kabal's flash move was unblockable at close distance due to the lag so they had to add a delay to that move happening to make up for it). None of the tweaks were done by Ed or the MK team, it was done by someone on the wavenet team. Ed did do the Noob Saibot playable character stuff though for that version.
