Picked up a dead UMK3 board that had made no sound but the LEDs lit up when turned on. I pulled U45 and several of the pins were bent straightened them, pulled U47 and noticed the housing was cracked put a zip tie around and resocketed it, the U35 chip is missing a pin; left it out and restarted the game and I get the test sound but the rom test says the ram is bad. What I want to know is what does the U35 do and can I get another one or can I somehow repair the missing pin? Have just started removing the corrosion from the other chips hope that is the problem with the rest.

U35 is an FPGA and that's whats most likely causing the bad ram issues.

You can try to repair it by filing down the area where it's missing and attaching a wire to it or something.

It's possible to get another one, but off a parts board of a Wolf Unit.

Fix it with a xacto knife and Donner leg. Xacto knife to clean metal to solder Donner leg. May need to dremmel some of chip body to get to metal. Good luck.
