Ok I searched and did everything I could find. I replaced the battery with a fresh new one. Did factory restore. Now heres the weird thing. Everything is fine until I enter the kombat code for old sub zero. After I reboot, I get the damn error and old sub zero is not at the character screen but ermac and mileena are. So its not a cmos problem because it is saving the other codes. Also the volume level doesnt save either after entering the code.

So would a upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2 possibly fix this error??

Anyone else have this problem?

very interesting. never heard of this happening before.

I upgraded my board from 1.1 to 1.2 myself, did some very amusing shit until I did the factory clear. lol

I'm sure there's some logical explanation for this... preferably from one channelmanic.

I think they were U54 and U63 ... look for the ones that don't have like MORTAL KOMBAT 3 GRAPHIC/SOUND ROM silked into them.

yeah, I just erased my game roms and reprogrammed them.

I still have all the equipment actually. I've been kind of mulling over that Site 4 board/trade scenario you have up there. I have some extra roms pulled from a KI, I think they're the exact same kind.

I just came across this. I have a very similar problem. When I power the game on for the first time in a while I get the CMOS error if I have entered the Kombat Kodes for the other fighters. If I havent no error. I can play and leave it on and all is well but after being off for 24 hours+ it occurs.

just out of dumb curiosity, are your battery sockets broken? like are any of the leads not making contact.

strange. that wasn't the reason I upgraded mine btw, I just wanted the latest version and had the hardware to pull it off. kind of weird that fixed it lol

probably echoes my point about the NVRAM just being corrupted. not entirely sure how that is, or how the factory restore can't fix it, but upgrading to another revision does.

I have 1.1 as well. Tested it again had it off for 2 days no Kombat Kodes and no CMOS error. I unlocked Mileena, turned it off and back on and Bam CMOS error.

captain obvious moment: was your battery dead?

lol

I erased and then burned the 1.2 on the old chips. Still no issues yet. I have noticed that the AI is slightly harder.
