I just got my Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 cabinet ready to go. My board doesn't work. I have put it on my jamma rig and its a no go. The only thing I get is the 2 red LED lights closest to the edge connector to come on. There is no sound, boot screen, or anything visibly damaged. Now, where to start.

Check your voltages first. Midway pcbs seem to always have troubles when the +5vdc is low.

Power

MK boards do seem to use a little more power than average. You said you put it on your test rig so I am sure you are past that check.

He said jamma rig, not test rig. I don't think it's a test station.

Do you get anything on the screen, like a white line?

If so,
crank that voltage up, dude. Mine is set around 5.1-5.2v.

Its my jamma rig basically set up to test jamma games and games that I have jamma conversions for. The board worked for a bit playing blind. I fixed the monitor and now I get nothing. There nothing on the screen. If it wasn't for the 2 LEDS on I wouldnt even have a clue it was powered up. I am thinking about pulling all the socketed chips and and reseating.

I wonder if your game roms are bad. if those took a dump it would probably do what you're looking at right now.

I don't particularly buy the power issue, cause I've seen Seattle and Vegas (yes, Vegas) boards run at 4.8V.. I can't see how a Wolf wouldn't do the same. try reseating your roms, particularly the game ones, I think they're U54 and U63 (I upgraded mine to 1.2 last year)
