ultra rare game for sale

Isn't there one of these annually at CAX? IIRC, it usually isn't working...

I'm not sure the last time that beavis and butthead was at CAX with the beavis and buthead board in the game. I seem to remember there being two B and BH cabs at one CAX. One had the actual game and I think the other had the atari prototype freeze IIRC. I think the Freeze in the B and BH is the one that usually makes it to CAX. The game is ok but repetitive and was not finished so you reach the final finished level then get some message. It's rare and kinda cool but not worth the asking price for me.

i dont know if it is worth that much. but i would like to have it!!!!

That is not a dedicated machine. It's built from a board that I sold about 5-6 years ago. The dedicated machines are shown below.

The unit runs on a 3DO based arcade board, with a different encryption than the home 3DO unit. The game is CD based and runs on a custom CD-ROM player. Only between 5-7 units were built. I own two of the larger cabinets, and the guys who run the CAX show have the smaller 'drawer cabinet' style unit.

This information is from an MTV website. "Daria (VO) - Like this thing. Hey, it's a Beavis and Butt-head stand-up arcade game. Only 12 were made, this is #9. You can use it to extort quarters from your friends. Grab the joystick and control Beavis and Butt-head's every movement. (beat) They'd probably like that."

For the last two years, my machine has been running the 'DIE ALIEN SCUM' proto game at the show. DAE runs on the same hardware as B&B, and I just swap the DAE CD into the machine. Usually the CAX guys bring the other one (running B&B), but they did not bring it this year.

Freeze has it's own dedicated cabinet and had never been inside the B&B cabinets.

One of these sold for $7500 at an MTV auction, when the game was new.

Any more questions?

Can you burn the game disc for me? ;-).

Also if you don't mind me asking how much did you sell the board for?

Epic Game to own, price is steep considering it's a conversion but cool none the less

I'm selling this for a friend of mine who purchased the pcb stuff...he wanted to make a custom cabinet but there it is for everyone to see..I think he said he would take $5000 for the whole cabinet, only things "not custom" are the original PCB and disk and disk drive, everything else had to made specifically for this....

I thought I read somewhere that the MAME team shelled out 5k for just a board not too long ago (the incredibly rare Wyvern F-0, I think), I wonder if they'll jump on this? If it get's dumped and is available I wonder if it would be possible to mod a 3DO to run it?

I wish a BOUNCER would turn up like this one of these days!

If im not mistaking didn't the game not complete only have something like 4 levels? I was highly interested in one of these back when I lived in cali even gone as far as to get in touch with someone that had one....yes prices are high but to own one of these hell why not I own all the dvd's and even have some copies of the old maroon a thons...LOL

As AtariScott stated, 3DO's encryption is different. I have a debug 3DO and it won't pass the loading menu on it....

I have NOS 3DO systems that ALG used on some of their games. I wonder if its the same 3DO set up Atari used.

I offered

I actually put in a quality offer and got a reasonable counter offer on ebay yesterday. However I know nothing about 3D0 or any of that talk. I expressed concern about the random rebooting and the fact that how in the world would you fix or get something like that fixed. I am well versed in standard jamma cabinents but have no idea what to expect when i open this up.

Is this something that I would completly be screwed with if I snatched this up and the disc player goes out?

What about the disc itself? Where would I find a replacement? Does a disc go bad? I guess if it gets scratched up some how.

All the more reason a disc image should be made available...

If last year is any indication of the market, this puppy should skyrocket in value after Beavis and Butt-head make their triumphant return.

Only 12 of these things were made and it won't run off the consumer 3DO hardware. There is a risk there, as is a risk putting money into anything rare.

I was under the impression the random booting is because the game isn't finished and buggy. Although, who knows?
