Hello, i was setting the b+ on my ez20 when the probe from the multimeter ..im guessing.. Touched 2 pieces of meteal and my monitor went blank.. Will a cap kit fix this?

If you shorted something, then no, a cap kit won't fix that. Check your fuses, and check the HOT and voltage regulator transistors to see if one is shorted. You might have killed the voltage regulator. What's the B+ at now? Nothing?

Did you shut it off for a few minutes then try it again. Sometimes the HV shutdown circuit will kick in when this happens, but not actually damage the monitor. A power cycle will sometimes bring it back on. If you were adjusting the B+ at the time, turn it down a bit to see if it will come back on, then get an alligator jumper or something to attach to the test point to keep this from happening again.

Otherwise, check the part you shorted to, as well as diodes, transistors, or chips on that trace to see what failed. And check (carefully) to see what the B+ is with it not working...

Well they only problem is i dont know what was touched. It happened when i moved the cab..i know, that wasnt very bright and the sad thing is i have some alligator clamps. Lesson learned. However i did try turning it back on. No glow. I changed the fuses any way. It has sat a few days i guess i could try it again.
