I bought a Pit Fighter cabinet and the monitor had no HV. A cap kit and flyback later, it has HV, but nothing ever comes up on the screen... it still stays dark black as if it wasn't on at all, but I can hear the HV whine.

So I pulled it out again, and reflowed all the sections listed as problematic in the K7000 sticky forum, tried it again, and then POP! I heard what sounded like a fuse blow, but the monitor kept going, HV and everything...

Turned it off, and couldn't see anything physically wrong with the board... any suggestions?

Does the HV stay up, or is it only on momentarily? If the screen till has static then it is likely up.

What is the B+? Check at the blue wire on the large ceramic resistor hanging off of the side of the chassis.

Do you have the dag wire connectd?

Do you have neck glow?

Did you forget to clip a lead?

Crap, I took voltage from the wrong resister... instead of the one on the side, I took a reading from the top of the ceramic resister standing on end in the corner of the PCB... which, if it's of any use, measured 80.5 vdc

I'll take a reading from the other one.

@modessit: no neck glow, and I'm not familiar with the other two terms you mentioned... I'll do some research and check

Screen on the flyback is turned up and I adjusted the black level on the external controller just to be sure as well.

B+ was 47.2 vdc at the blue wire on the side mount ceramic resistor.

Still not sure what a dag wire is, and by clipping a lead, do you mean a grounded cable to chassis, neckboard and frame?
