Ugh, can you see what is wrong with this picture?

5 that I see right away. All involve the wrong toy for the description IE the DK NES version shown instead of the arcade game, etc etc.

They have the NES version of DK for 1981. They should have a picture of the arcade cabinet. Actually, if they are talking holiday toys, it shouldn't be on there at all. The NES didn't come out in the US until 1985.

An NES game in 1981? Wow!

Also... the Kiss Players description is correct, and it did feature Convoy... but it didn't come out in 1985. I guess it depends on who made up this picture, as the US got Transformers in 1984, however everywhere else got them in 1985.

Also the TMNT toy pictured came out in the 2000s.

If you want to be picky, the DS isn't a console. :p

If I'm not mistaken the other mistakes are:
The new Care Bear plush shown in the timeline instead of the original plush style.
A newer Optimus shown instead of the original (that appears to be the remake of the original G1 series. The paint color is wrong).
The newer TMNT figure shown instead of the original packaging/toy.

Good job guys! Only Ricky Stratton could have gotten a DK arcade cabinet for Christmas in 1981. They could have used the Coleco Table top of the Coleco Cartridge, but I think that wasn't until 1982.

Also, there is an elf committing suicide by hammer. That's pretty wrong for this article which might be read by children.

Nice, and how many of those toys have you played with? I still own a few. I still have my lazer tag with the price tag of $19.99 from KB toys.

Oh and the Transformers came from Japanese toys from Takara called Diaclone, I don't know anything about these Kiss Players. This should be called a Misinfographic.

Edit:
OMG the Kiss Players is from 2003 and is from the Binaltech toys! Many could they get anything else wrong!?

Yup, wrong packaging. Someone didn't care to do their research or make this chart accurate which is a shame.

This is what they look like. I recently pulled mine out of storage. All in original packaging.

I remember wanting those and some Ghostbusters toys when I was a kid, but my parents never bought me either. What a shame.

The Nintendo DS came out in 2004, but what's pictured is a DS Lite, which didn't come out until 2006. They also spelled "Nintendo" and "separate" wrong in the sentence underneath.

In addition to what everyone else already said I feel like a huge mistake is including the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Ipad on this chart of children's toys. Have our children really become that spoiled...?

Yes.

Have you not seen parents out on Black Friday willing to kill others in order to get the best deals on consoles? People were literally ripping apart a pallet (plastic wrap and all) stacked with X360s at our local Walmart.

I have to say I was one of the spoiled children that got the OG Game Boy when it came out. That thing cost like $100 (with inflation probably around 150+ which is comparable to today's handhelds I guess) IIRC. It got a lot of play I can tell you that much.

I know, your right. It just is so crazy that we went from the top children's gift being a Rubik's cube to an Ipad. Oh how the times have changed :)

Doesn't sound any different than when I wanted a Nintendo as a kid. That was also a relatively expensive toy at the time.

It's interesting how the in demand toy rotates between American and Japanese products. Just an observation.

Adding to the other numerous errors:
The Rubik's Cube was released in 1980, not 1982

Also rubber WWF action figures were released much earlier than 1992...i.e. when wrestling was still relevant. Honkey Tonk Man, Tugboat, Iron Sheik, Andre the Giant, Bam Bam Bigelow, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, etc, etc, etc

The Koosh ball, while developed in 1986, didn't see a wide release of any kind until Christmas of 1988.

I'm sure there are others but those are the ones I see :)

Well it isn't just Binaltech. Its true it started out of BTA, but there were other figures such as new cassettes that were released in Kiss Players. If you think that's bad, don't try finding the manga for it.

To be specific, only some of the original Transformers came from Diaclone. Other ones came from Microman, Kiko Chutai Beetras, Tikuso Kihei Dorvack, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Grandstand Converters, etc.

As for the Optimus Prime in the picture, it isn't a recent one, at least officially. What gives it away is the length of the smokestacks. It is possible that it is a G2 Optimus Prime, however the lack of the correct stickers may also mean its a KO. Another reason for the KO idea is the fact that the gun looks black. The other blue parts (they aren't painted, the only paint on Optimus Prime is the red cab and the chrome) may just be dark blue, but its hard to tell. The gun is definately NOT blue at all.
