Anyone know where I can find one of these remote boards to adjust the pincushion? From what I understand the 27" models came with the board to adjust the pincushion, but the 25" models did not. I'm trying to find one of these so that I can adjust the pincushion on my 25". It's a pretty minor adjustment.

Thanks

It wasn't included for the 25" U5000 because it wasn't needed. You may want to check the solder around your pincushion transformer...

Which part/location (#) is that?

I replaced some transistors/resistors based on some previous threads related to the problem (Q710, Q709, Q703, R751, R752) and it seemed to help a little, but I still have just a TINY bit of hourglass going on.

Thanks

EDIT: Looking at the manual, the only part that it lists for pincushion is #L703 (coil pincushion). Should I check that?

I got a 25" U5000 with a slight pincushion issue too, I just lived with it. I'll have to check this out if I get around to it. I have a few parts chassis.

Yeah, it's really not that bad, just noticeable on the crosshatch/grid. I can't notice it at all during gameplay. I'm hoping modessitt chimes in again. If it's just a matter of reflowing some solder, I'd be more than happy to check into it. I just need to know which component to go after.

did you install a cap kit on it yet? I just remembered I have to do the one that I patchworked together for my KI2. it's really funny when they have original caps in them cause you see this weird ghosting shit if you look closely at the picture.

the flybacks are typically shitty on them too. I'm not really down with popping for new ones on all my U5000s right now though, I figure they all work... that would cost me potentially more than $100 lol

Yeah, I capped kit. The first thing I do when I get a new game is cap the monitor(s).

If you only notice it on the cross hatch screen, you may just be seeing a bit of warp from the curvature of the tube.

But yeah, that pincushion coil is the area i'd inspect for any solder/trace issues, and the traces leading to and away from it...
