I have a U5000 (yes yes, I know) that can only go about 3/4ths the height of the screen before the bottom starts to fold over on itself. I had this issue before, then had a cap kit done to it. Still has the same stupid issue. Anyone know what's going on here? It's not he B+ adjustment, sadly.

I remember fiddling around with that B+ and got the picture looking nice. Filled the whole screen. It was awesome. Two days later, I blew the hot on it (which I had replaced, at the same time as my cap kit). Just giving some extra useless info.

Has it had the vertical output update (service) kit installed?

Has it had the other two service kits (horiz out and power supply) installed too?

I'm afraid I don't know. I'll give you the history of it:

Bought an NBA Showtime/NFL Blitz cab. It was the monitor that was in there. Always looked pretty damn nice in there. I took it out (replaced the cab's monitor with a new multi sync one) and put this one in a Point Blank 2 machine. Had to switch the res from medium to low by use of the jumper. Ever since then, I've had issues. Like I said, I messed with something where I got it full for about a day and a half, then it just fried. So, make of that what you will.

What are these service updates you speak of?

The U2000/U5000 service kits have been well discussed many times.

Three different kits were made to correct certain _continuing_ problems to prevent the problems from recurring.

U2000/U5000 Vertical Sweep service kit (fixes vertical problems)

U2000/U5000 Power Supply service kit (fixes power supply problems)

U5000 Horizotal Output service kit (fixes problems of frequent blown horiz out transistor)

On a U5000, all three kits are suggested to be installed.
