This kind of a late posting as I haven't been around the cab in a while since its in storage. I've gotta 25" Daytona LE setup with a finicky U5000 setup. I've got 2x chassis and probably a dozen neck boards by now, but I've still managed to encounter intermittent issues here and there.

When I first got this cab the HOT was blown, didn't know but had bought a second chassis. Same issue with the other chassis so I did this, replaced both HOTs and only replaced one flyback, assuming that was blowing the HOT. The new flyback chassis didn't fill the screen, the old flyback chassis filled the screen. So I ran a cap kit on the new flyback chassis....Meanwhile the old flyback chassis blew its HOT again....I'll fix it later. I swapped it for the new capped chassis and replacement flyback (they don't have a brightener) it does fairly better but cuts out whenever it wants, sometimes i just have to flick the power and it will come back up....might need to check the wall outlet in this storage unit...but if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to advise.

On another note, when the monitor cuts off, the game is still running just fine....that is besides a slight audio issue which I will have posted in Gen. Repair

that's Sega right? I had a Virtua Fighter cab I tried throwing a monitor in and never got the damn sync to work. tried every combination known to man. I was wondering how you pulled that off on yours. :D with a U5000 no less.

that very last chassis you mention sounds like the B+ is out of whack. TP202 and the frame ground, 200VDC range, check to make sure it's 117V-118V (I honestly ALWAYS get these mixed up)

entirely unusual about the HOTs though. I'm not experienced enough with that subject to really say, but the random shutoffs are very common for the U2000/U5000/K7400/K7500 line, generally when they're due for a cap kit. the B+ pot's usually plastered with that orange epoxy, and I've heard various reports (usually from Ken Layton if I recall, been a few years) that the epoxy actually damages the pots over time. I have however busted the epoxy off before, because I'm psychotic and live dangerously, and was able to succeed in my various missions. before you go dicking with that though, re-cap (which you did) and then check TP202 to see what you got. shouldn't have to mess with the B+ pot in most cases.
