I'm capping a chasis for a guy. He bought the U5000 cap kit and gave it to me to work on. However.. after doing a few caps that matched up perfect .. I have come across a couple that are off on both uf and voltage. Can somone confirm the chasis is a U5000? It came out of a Golden Tee '99

Can some one confirm the chasis is a U5000?

U2000 maybe.

it is not a U5000 that i have ever seen.
a U5000 has the header to select 15 or 31khz this chassis does not have that option.

golden tee 99 is only std res.

Yeah I had a feeling it was the wrong kit... should have posted pics here before starting. Oh..and its actually from a GT '97.. I just found out.

GT 97 is also std res only.

well if you could make a complete list of the original caps and their locations i would love to have the list.

That does look like a U2000... but what's that little riser board in the middle? pincushion(optional?) mine doesn't have that!

Told the guy he needed a U2000 kit.. he ordered it and it should be here next week.

think GT's 27" right? 27" and above will have the pincushion adjustment board.

The possibility of a mod.. is not something I would look forward to. I really hope thats not the case.

The label says 2520.. If that's a 27" chassis with a pincushion board then it would have to had been modded... I'm guessing..

shit. it's funny, I even looked at the label in the picture too.

lol, my bad. yeah, a 25" does not need the pincushion board.

I'm not sure about the U5000, but I know to change a 7400 from 25" to 27" all you need is the pincushion board and you need to change out one resistor (R260 If I remember correctly) from 220 Ohm to 330 Ohm... So It's not much of a "mod".. I don't see a pot on that extra board though. the 7400 pincushion board has two pots on it to control the pincushion...

it's got a transistor on it. look at the size of that heatsink. never seen anything like that before. head scratcher for sure.
